Position : Blood Collections Team Leader (Phlebotomist)
Job Description : Team leader is responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the blood drive or operation that is assigned.Team Leader (also known as a Collections Team Leader) perform the following: Represents management & the company; ensures productivity & quality standards are met.Performs all pre-drive/operation tasks, including, but not limited to:Reviewing of departure timeReviewing/ensuring completeness of all items on the checklists for the drive/operationEnsuring essential equipment and sufficient supplies are packed to operate, aware of directions to drive location for no-fixed-site operationsConducting briefings (including, but not limited to “morning huddle”) for staff assigned to drive to apprise of drive goals, hours, donor flow capacity, special orders, expectations, fire/evacuation safety and other information pertinent to drive operations that day.Organizes and manages staffing requirements, including work assignments, scheduling of breaks/lunch, and coordination of blood runsLeads staff to ensure they are safely performing tasks in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOP’s).Assists in training of new or recently hired employees..Ensures quality control is performed on all equipment, supplies and reagents in accordance with the SOP’s, as applicable, including the adherence to the quality control recordkeeping (checklists, worksheets, donor eligibility records, blood transport forms, Genesis QC, Hemocue QC, donor weight scale or automatic donor scale and vehicle inspection form).The aforementioned responsibilities of the Blood Collections Team Leader (Phlebotomist) describe the general nature and level of work and are not an exhaustive list.Why the Blood Bank of Hawaii?Blood Bank of Hawaii is a diverse nonprofit organization offering its employee’s professional development and growth opportunities, a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a collaborative team spirit environment.If interested, please go to our website at www.bbh.org for more information and to apply or submit your resume through Indeed.com.The Blood Bank of Hawaii is an equal opportunity employer.
