Position : BSA Analyst

Job Description : ObjectiveThe BSA Analyst supports the efforts of the Risk Management Department in protecting member assets. Incumbent will be responsible for administration, monitoring and reporting requirements of the Credit Union’s risk in areas of Bank Secrecy Act compliance and fraud. The BSA Analyst will partner with groups throughout the organization to affect change on policy and processes based on report findings.Duties and Responsibilities· Analyze accounts for unusual or suspicious activity using various reports and alerts generated by the credit union’s anti-money laundering system· Conduct account investigations and research to address any account irregularities and determine whether escalation is warranted· Process alerts by determining to clear or to escalate for further investigation based on an analysis of findings· Document all findings in a centralized case management system to ensure complete documentation is secured and maintained as required by law· Communicate with credit union personnel and management on CIP, CDD, and EDD deficiencies detected during the account monitoring process· Maintain proficiency in all aspects of BSA/AML compliance; attend BSA training as assigned by the BSA Officer· Review of the high-risk accounts· Review OFAC alerts· Prepare and submit Currency Transaction Reports· Preform FinCEN 314(a) searches· Adhere to all provisions of KEMBA Financial Credit Union policies and procedures, including the confidentiality policy, code of ethics and BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures· Provide frontline support by responding to questions regarding compliance and procedural matters· Participate in audits and examinations, including BSA· Complete specialized compliance reports and projects as needed· Develop an understanding of the Credit Union’s history, philosophy, organization, policies, and operational procedures· Attend periodic training to improve individual level of competency· Other duties and responsibilities as assignedRequired Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years prior experience in the financial industry, BSA or a combination of experience and education· BSA certification or ability to achieve certification within one year of hire.· Must possess good research skills involving customer and transactional data, and the ability to support conclusions with documentary evidence· Must possess effective and in-depth data mining capabilities; ability to summarize and present data for management review· Ability to define problems, collect data and establish facts and draw valid conclusions· Ability to work with various systems, rectify problems and/or implement new systems relevant to BSA compliance· Must partner well with cross functional teams to achieve desired results· Must be comfortable handling fraud related tasks face to face or over the phone· Self-motivated with a strong work ethic· Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills· Detail orientedPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
