Job Description : JOB OVERVIEWThe position of Research Specialist is located at BASF’s Catalyst Research and Development site in Iselin, New Jersey. We are part of the company’s Catalyst Division, which is a leading supplier of environmental and process catalysts worldwide. Our team supports the development of next generation automotive catalysts for Gasoline and Diesel applications. We are seeking a professional like you to join our team.In this role, you will be responsible for safe and reliable preparation of experimental catalyst technologies, including catalyst powder preparation, catalyst slurry preparation and catalyst wash coating.Leveraging your hands-on experience in Chemical research laboratories as well as strong math and analytical skills, you will assist in preparing next generation automotive catalyst technologies and provide detailed reports on the process to researchers and experts.Your ability to thrive within a demanding environment will be a valued asset as you will be responsible for the on-time and accurate completion of catalyst formulations.Demonstrating your effective communication skills and attention to detail, you will diligently follow procedures, capture operation details, and alert researchers on deviations in procedures and non-conforming samples.Adhering to the IATF 16949 quality standard, you will document data in various databases and be diligent about lab procedures and material tracing.Your experience with working in a chemical laboratory, general housekeeping, and basic computer skills will be critical to effectively perform routine activities, assist in preparing for periodic lab inspections, and report digital data.You are self-driven and must work well both independently and as a team member, assisting proactively in other areas if necessary.Job Types: Full-time, ContractSalary: $30.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftEducation:Associate (Preferred)Experience:Laboratory: 1 year (Preferred)Automobile catalyst: 1 year (Preferred)Research and development: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
