Job Description : Class Summary
Clerk of Court is an elected position serving the Superior, State, Juvenile and Magistrate courts in Gwinnett County. The Clerk and Deputy Clerks are custodians over the land and property records of the county as well as the civil and criminal files and records in the courts served.
The Deputy Clerk I position is an entry-level support position into the deputy clerk series. This is a support position responsible for processing a large volume of documents in support of the courts. Incumbents provide assistance to the public, ensure forms and paperwork are correct, and perform routine clerical support activities.
The Grade/DBM for this position is A131.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma, or G.E.D
One year of general office experience
Incumbents must be 21 years of age
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
Preferred Qualifications:
Legal and/or criminal justice system experience
Must possess above average data entry and typing skills
This job entails fiduciary responsibility and will require a credit check
