For more information or to view other opportunities, visit www.spectrumretirement.com.This position ensures the resident’s well-being and satisfaction both in services and physical environment by assisting with developing and implementing programs that enhance the quality and enjoyment of life for our residents within the community._ *This position is eligible for quarterly pay rate increases.*_Shift Details: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:00am – 4:00pmSalary $13.50 – $18.67 / hourRequired: Valid Drivers License, Food Handlers Certificate.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist in providing overall direction to the department by planning, coordinating, and implementing adult-centric, relevant, elevated and purposeful activities.Assist in the development of the monthly calendar with input from staff and residents and ensure that it is equally balanced with cultural, intellectual, spiritual, social, physical and recreational opportunities.Assist in procuring groups, organizations and individuals to perform for or instruct the residents as part of the program.Assist in providing periodic resident service seminars providing an overview of programs and conducting other activities to encourage participation.Actively influence and encourage residents to participate in activities and lead or maintain activities on behalf of their fellow residents, using positive relationships and personalized interactions.Assist in developing and maintaining the resident libraries and coordinate a resident library committee.Establish and maintain an active network of resident and community volunteers and other community resources.Assist in coordinating the production and distribution of the community newsletter.Assist the Director of Entertainment & Programming in providing recreational, business and medical transportation to residents.Assist residents in entering and exiting the vehicle.Drive residents to events as needed.Assist with supervision of community and resident volunteers. Understand how to approach and communicate with all residents including those who are cognitively impaired.Treat residents, family members and other team members with dignity and respect while responding to their needs.Maintain and sustain a safe community and workplace.Follow Spectrum’s Policies, Procedures, and Manuals.Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Previous relevant experience preferred.Must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving.Must have a valid state Driver’s License and Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must possess knowledge of the geographic area they will be driving in.Driving record must meet or exceed minimum standards of insurability by the company’s automobile insurer.The ability to plan and coordinate resident transportation.Demonstrated proficiency in organizational skills with attention to detail.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, and the use of Internet resources.Outstanding customer service skills with caring and compassionate behavior towards others.Ability to coordinate with supervisors when group action is needed to solve a problem and get cooperation of other departments within the community.Ability to adapt and develop program activities to meet the divergent needs of residents with different backgrounds and interests.Understand how to approach and communicate with all residents including those who are cognitively impaired.Must have exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.Must have the ability to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.Treat residents, family members and other team members with dignity and respect while responding to their needs.Preserve and protect the privacy, confidentiality and security of all medical records, proprietary and other confidential information relating to Spectrum Retirement, its residents, Team Members, activities and affiliates, in accordance with all applicable laws (especially HIPAA) and Spectrum policy.Promote Spectrum in a positive manner and lead by example, modeling our core values in everyday behavior matched with infectious enthusiasm.Ability to adapt and develop program activities to meet the divergent needs of residents with different backgrounds and interests.Understand how to approach and communicate with all residents including those who are cognitively impaired.Treat residents, family members and other team members with dignity and respect while responding to their needs.Maintain and sustain a safe community and workplace.Follow Spectrum’s Policies, Procedures, and Manuals.Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Must have exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.Must have the ability to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.*PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours.Must be able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 40 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs.Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The safety of our Residents and Team Members is our top priority.
