If you would like to grow in a career at Smith Dental Care, we encourage you to apply!Website: csmithdental.comDuties You Will Learn to Do: · Perform as a practice expert at the department on all issues relating to Eligibility and verification· Supervise the Eligibility & Verification department operations· Review patient deductibles and/or copays and enter them into the billing system for all clinic locations to access.· Train, allocate work, and resolve problems among eligibility & verification office personnel· Ensure quality and appropriate trainings are provided to newly hired and existing eligibility staff· Coordinate time away requests of team members to ensure the daily functions of the department is not negatively affected· Collaborate with other departments to get and analyze additional information about patients· Assist the clinical front desk staff and call center staff in understanding carrier websites and verification of eligibility.· Answer questions from patients, clerical staff, and insurance companies.· Work in conjunction with the billing department to ensure clean billing.· Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties assigned.Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, or a related field and/or 3-5+ years of experience in healthcare; dental a plus· Strong experience of medical insurance/dental billing/ and collections work in a health system or medical practice· Possess profound knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations affecting medical billing and insurance verification· Possess current knowledge of technologies in the health information sector and their applications· Proficient in computers and relevant software applications and practice management technology· Possession of strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement· Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively relate with the public, patients, organizations, and other employees· Strong ability to communicate effectively with staff, colleagues, patients, physicians, and insurers in person, over the telephone, and in writing· Strong proficiency in the use of Word, Outlook, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools· Strong ability to train and supervise the work of employees; effectively organize, prioritize, and schedule tasks to ensure practice timelines are met· Ability to collaborate across departments and build effective relationships with internal and external customers to achieve goals· Knowledge of customer service principles and practices· Strong organizational skills· Punctual· Willing to learn· Excellent communicationBenefits: · Medical· Vision· Dental· Voluntary Short-Term Disability, Hospital, Cancer and Life Insurance plans· 401(k) with employer match· Paid time offJob Type: Full-timePay: $15.00 – $23.00 per hourSchedule:Monday to FridayWork Location: One location
