Position : Hearing Screener – Infant Screening (20 hours per week w/partial benefits)
Job Description : Performs newborn hearing screenings using automated screening equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs automated hearing screenings.
Obtains and enters patient demographic information in database and screening device.
Downloads screening results from hearing screening device to database.
Enters screening results on discharge planning sheet in the medical record.
Completes and distributes screening result letters and informational brochure.
Performs daily biological equipment calibration to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
Maintains patient’s privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school or equivalent. Must be able to successfully complete the following training requirements: Automated hearing screening, Infection control, universal precautions, and CPR. 60 hrs of college credit preferred, health-care experience preferred
Good computer skills, including data entry; basic verbal skills; good interpersonal skills; able to use automated optoacoustic emissiom and auditory brainstem response screening equipment.
SALARY RANGE: $13.77 – $20.65/hr, commensurate with experience.
