Job Description : Responsibilities

In this key position, you will advance quality objectives by reviewing and reconciling accounts. This will involve extensive payer interaction and phone communication to verify coverage, eligibility, and financial responsibility. This role requires the ability to identify and distinguish different types of payers, including commercial, blues, workers comp and others. You will:
Review and interpret un-billed, billed and pending claims Review IP, OP, ER & other visits with possible similar visit dates Identify missing authorizations/LOC/BDT on discharge reports Transfer and combine charges Update patient demographic or payor data and notify cash posting of errors Complete all accounts in the daily work queue Maintain and report pre-billing trends
Qualifications
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, self-directed, customer-focused professional with:
Extensive billing and collections experience In-depth knowledge of collection techniques and laws Understanding of billing and reimbursement issues Knowledge of EOB/Medicare RA Familiarity with Epic, Cirius and iCap Strong communication, interpersonal and follow-through skills Basic math abilities Expertise with payer web sites, faxing and 10-key by touch Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Ability to remain composed when faced with resistance, indifference or hostility Sound judgment Skill in typing with speed and accuracy
