Position : Inventory Control Manager

Job Description : We are seeking an Inventory Control Manager to join our team for our company in the Lighting Industry in Oakland, NJ. The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for ensuring execution of the daily operations of the inventory control process. This includes handling a wide range of material items of all sizes, maintaining ship/receive, records (paper and database), performing basic quality inspections of material received, inventory cycle count, slotting and consolidation of products.
This is a 1st shift Direct Hire role from 7AM-3: 30PM with a salary depending on experience and a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).
Responsibilities of the Inventory Control Manager:
Responsible for creating, revising and monitoring all policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective processing of deliveries, cycle counting, stock consolidation, product storage and correct picking and restocking of parts.
Manage physical inventories and cycle inventory process to obtain the financial and operational goals.
Ensure proper receiving in system, storage and control of inventory.
Perform 5 Cycle Counts Daily – to include the reconciliation for all variances
Keep warehouse areas neat and orderly, aisle’ s clean and product in proper location
Audit Picking and Receiving Team
Perform Gemba walk daily and track corrective actions
Utilize Oracle to track and monitor Inventory and discrepancies
Lead the Tier I meeting for Warehouse teams on a daily basis. Participate in Fabrication, Assembly and Shipping meetings daily.
Develop, train and maintain inventory controls to prevent shortages.
Perform inventory transfer functions and work orders in Oracle.
Oversee the entire pick and ship process of material to local vendors and other intercompany facilities.
Coordinate with Customer Support and Production regarding the handling of expedited jobs as needed.
Close all work orders daily and assist in month-end closing procedures.
Generate shortage reports to Purchasing and Production Control as needed. Where possible, generate work orders to resolve open issues and verify the delivery date of material.
Implement ECO’ s by correcting BOM’ s within Oracle.
Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all company health and safety policies.
Manage a team of 8 inventory pickers and 2 receiving clerks.
Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management and the Company.

Preferred Qualifications of the Inventory Control Manager:
8 to 10 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing warehouse environment.
Experience managing staff of 6 or more individuals.
Computer proficiency in MS Office applications and managing data in Excel spreadsheets.
Experience in using ERP applications, preferably Oracle. Electronic barcode scanner experience a plus.
Must be able to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to an eight-hour shift; ascend and descend from a forklift; lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.; bend, twist and reach to check freight, stack boxes, and label.
Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
