Position : Medical Collections Specialist
Job Description : Thriving Ophthalmology practice seeking to add a new team member to our Billing department. Our practice is fast paced with 10 providers specializing in a full range of ophthalmic procedures.Professionalism with a warm, welcoming smile is imperative to this role. Excellence in patient care is our priority. You could be a part of that effort by joining our team.Prior experience with Medical Insurance Billing & Coding is REQUIRED to be considered for this role, No Exceptions. Ophthalmology background is desirable, though not required.We have an in-house team that manages the entire billing process of each claim, from start to finish. Therefore, a full range of skills within the process of billing medical claims is essential for this role, including knowledge of the following processes:Accounts Receivable: Patient FinancialsAccount Assessment: Assigning Budget Plans, Financial Hardship Considerations, Creating Solutions for Patient’s Ongoing Care NeedsBuilding Patient Relationships: Review of Patient Statements, Developing a Connection utilizing personalized Outbound Patient Phone Calls/EmailsCollections Management Process: Identify Appropriate Accounts, Upload & Process to AgencyAttention to detail and the ability to work at an efficient pace is critical to this position. Our practice has electronic medical records and we utilize Microsoft Office throughout our work day, so proficient computer skills are an absolute must. We have a supportive team approach, so being a team player is a must!Our newly renovated main office is conveniently located in the West End of Richmond. This position is full time and our office hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday – Friday, with some scheduling flexibility available.
