Position : Medical Records Technician
Job Description : Eagleville Hospital is seeking a FT Medical Records Technician. The Medical Records Technician is responsible for performing all technical evaluation and analysis of records, collecting, processing, storing and retrieving all types of health information, confidentiality in safeguarding information and protecting patient privacy.
Responsibilities include:
Processes all patient information telephone calls and messages in accordance with confidentiality regulations as they are received
Processes all written requests/releases for patient information in accordance with confidentiality regulations as they are received
Assembles paper medical records, and then using the paper and electronic record, completes deficiency analysis, abstracts and codes the discharge diagnosis, enters the discharge address, and moves chart to appropriate workstation within the same day the medical record is receive
Scans alphabetized loose reports using the electronic document management system to file in patient medical records on a weekly basis
Assist staff in procedures of retrieving and charging out patient medical records for chart reviews, completion of deficiencies, and regulatory surveys as needed
Requirements:
High school diploma
Knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology
