Job Description : Primary ResponsibilitiesUnder the general supervision of the Manager, Health Information Management, the Medical Records Technician is responsible for the assembly and the qualitative and quantitative analysis of all patients’ medical records, and the filing of patient records and loose reports.As a member of the healthcare industry, Wahiawa General Hospital is committed to excellent customer service to our residents and patients, their families, vendors, to one another, and the general public. Assembles inpatient, Emergency Room (ER), Ambulatory Surgery (ASU), and outpatient medical records (Home Health, Chemotherapy, etc.) according to specified chart order with accuracy.2. Performs quantitative and qualitative analyzes on inpatient, Emergency Room(ER), Ambulatory Surgery (ASU), and outpatient medical records according to specified chart order with accuracy.3. Dispatches copies of reports to the appropriate physicians or departments.4. Files medical records and loose reports in the appropriate location.5. Maintains daily listing of inpatient discharges, emergency room patients, ambulatory surgery and observation patients, and outpatient visits.6. Answers telephone requests for medical information.7. Monitors physicians’ deficiencies.8. Updates Chart Completion System.9. Provides and maintains effective liaison an relationships with the medical record staff, other departments, the medical staff, and other agencies that interface with the department.Other Duties1. Responsible for department equipment and supplies.2. Performs annual purging of records.3. Maintains confidentiality of medical information at all times.4. Complies with hospital and departmental policies.5. Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualification Requirements: 1. Employment is subject to being completely vaccinated or having a WGH approved COVID-19 Vaccine Exemption prior to providing services for the facility.S*kills/Knowledge: *1. Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform job duties.2. Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.Education: 1. High school or equivalentExperience: 1. Two (2) years hospital medical records or office experience with certificate of completion of medical terminology.Working Conditions1. Air conditioned office with no exposure to physical hazards or toxic chemicals.Equipment Use1. Use of general office equipment for extended periods of time.Mental and Physical Demands1. Ability to lift/carry or push/pull up to 25 pounds.2.
