Job Description : General Overview: Our client, a grower, shipper, distributor and marketer of fresh produce is seeking an Operations Warehouse Manager to oversee the efficient and timely packaging/processing of produce in a packing house or processing facility, maintaining efficient and productive processes. Based in Vidalia, Georgia.Job Overview: Position Title: Operations Warehouse ManagerJob Location: Vidalia, GeorgiaReports To: General ManagerStatus: Full- TimeType: PermanentHours: Monday through Friday, and includes occasional weekend depending on operational needsSalary: $90,000-$110,000 / year Depending on Experience (DOE)Position Summary: The Operations / Warehouse Manager is responsible for efficient and timely packaging and processing of produce in a packing house and production facility. Responsible to obtain workers, organize work shifts and maintain safety protocols, including food safety.Essential Job Functions: Works closely with the plant manager to set annual budgets, schedules, goals and objectives.Develop KPI’s and various tracking reports in-order to stay on track or make needed adjustments.Monitor production to resolve issues, make necessary corrections, or implement standard operating procedures for production operations.Hires, trains and evaluates production supervisors and leads.Works closely with production team in scheduling the number, and timing of temporary and/or H-2A workers, throughout various commodity seasons.Oversees workflow to meet specifications and deadlines, while controlling cost.Oversees resources needed and may assist in negotiation with suppliers for materials, equipment, machines and lines, for a single or multiple production facilities. Implement cost control programs, to include collaboration between relevant departments including procurement, maintenance and warehousing.Implementation and oversight of adherence to health and safety procedures. Ensures complete compliance for all federal, state and local food safety regulations. Works closely with internal food safety managers and outside auditors. This to include segregation of conventual and organic certified produce handling.Works closely with quality team to set product quality standards. This may include working with third party and customer inspectors/representatives. Implement and enforce standards set while utilizing tracking programs in place to detect/correct issues and report.Oversees employee and third- party employee safety. Ensures adherence to OSHA standards, while driving a safe work environment. Ensures proper safety orientation and on-going training.Works closely with the warehouse personnel to structure proper storage and FIFO processes to ensure the highest quality of freshness. Oversight of operations for a single or multiple site location. To include production, maintenance, warehousing, storage (some situations include cold storage) and shipping.Plan, organize, direct and operate optimum day-to-day operations with the goal to exceed our customers’ expectations in a profitable manner.Works closely with the agriculture and sales team, in-order to know types of produce, packaging sizes and finished goods to be packed and/or processed. Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility without compromising quality standards.Responsible to set annual budgets and hold production/maintenance/warehouses supervisors accountable. Adjust, as needed while setting up tracking data and KPI’s in-order to maintain productivity standards, on-time shipping, and meet the overall company goals and objectives.Hires supervisors, trains/coach/evaluate for correction and/or development. Sets schedules for all operational departments and allocate proper labor levels.Heavily involved in annual asset request and management of asset allocation, to include building improvements, machinery and equipment.Sets standards for quality and productivity.Ensures food safety standards from the manager of food safety are communicated and adhered to. Ensures employee safety, and OSHA process and procedures are current and that a safety culture is in place at all-times. Oversees supervisors are trained in proper and positive employee treatment.Operate in a leadership capacity to drive overall company improvement. Develops, implements, reviews, and updates business planning to drive financial performance and efficient operations.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge in production, warehouse/storage and maintenance management of a largescale operation. Experience is the produce industry a strong plus and preferred.Able to think out-of-the-box, problem solve and make decisions. Must be flexible and able to work in an environment that is fast paced and ever-changing.Strong understanding of maintaining standards in employee safety, food/health safety and federal/state/local work regulations. This to include utilization of H-2A workers. Bilingual in Spanish a strong plus.Able to utilize various hardware/software formats. Examples are desktop/laptop computers, Microsoft office, Excel, Word, etc.Must be able to adjust, stay flexible, work with deadlines and changing environments due to the nature of the produce seasonality. Able to handle stress, stay calm and motivate others while in stressful situations,Able to think strategically from multiple levels of process flow with production, storage, warehousing and shipping. Able to train/coach/develop managers and delegate as skills develop.Able to interact with other departments in a collaborative manner while maintaining a team attitude. Must be well organized, exercise solid judgement and able to think big picture.Strong communication skills in both the written and spoken word. Ability to maintain a strong sense of urgency and passion for results and constant improvement.Able to maintain Generation Farms confidential and proprietary information. Operate with the highest ethics and integrity at all-times, while ensuring that others under your supervision do the same.Demonstrated knowledge and skills in packaging and processing production. Deep know-how in production procedures, ability to structure and schedule line workers and shift work.Decision-making and problem-solving skills. Able to lead and motivate a production team, including a high number of temporary and H2-A workers. Bilingual in Spanish a strong plus.Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations.Able to utilize various hardware/software formats. Examples are desktop/laptop computers, Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.Able to train and delegate responsibility to others on the team. Knowledge of performance evaluation with attention to detail. Operate with a mind toward process improvement.Must have demonstrated planning and organizational skills. Able to operate in a collaborative manner with a team attitude, while executing sound judgement, and professionalism across multiple functional areas of the organization.Education, Training and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.Ten to twelve years of experience in a plant environment.Produce exposure preferred.Must have demonstrated leadership experience that includes exposure to maintenance, warehousing and production.
