Job Description : Packaging Company looking for a qualified Payroll Clerk to assist in all activities regarding the management of employee compensation in the company. Candidate will undertake a variety of tasks such as entering payroll information, calculating wages, garnishments, medical insurance, 40k and making tax payments. Must have great understanding of the concept of confidentiality. Must be experienced in entering data with attention to detail and have good math skills to make the necessary calculations. The goal is to carry out all payroll procedures with speed and accuracy.ResponsibilitiesManage compensation packages using payroll softwareCollect and verify timekeeping information for all employeesCalculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtimeCalculate bonuses and commissions when appropriateManage and calculate taxes and deductionsInitiate periodical payments timely either by preparing and administering checks or making direct deposits through a bank payment systemIssues statements and invoices and maintain recordsUpdate paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.Calculate unemployment and severance paymentsDeal with complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and upper managementInvestigate and resolve any discrepancies in payrollPrepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisorMedical Insurance enrollments and terminations401K enrollments and terminationsProcess payroll tax paymentsSubmit payroll tax filingsSkillsProven experience as payroll clerk or payroll managerFamiliarity with general accounting principlesExperience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentialitySolid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and regulationsComputer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Sage HRMS)Exquisite math and numerical skillsOutstanding organizational and time management skillsExcellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solvingHigh school diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in accounting/business administration is a plusJob Type: Full-timePay: From $24.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Health insurancePaid time offPhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Payroll Management: 5 years (Preferred)Work Location: Multiple Locations
