YOUR POSITION WITH TNC

TNC is developing a range of conservation initiatives in collaboration with partners in different parts of the country. In addition, TNCC is working towards bridging the gap between policymaking and sustainability science by promoting co-produced multi-disciplinary solutions. This position will provide programmatic support to the portfolio of ongoing and new conservation initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position will be responsible for providing technical and programmatic management support for efficient and effective management of the portfolio of ongoing and new conservation initiatives. The incumbent will report to the Director of Programs and work in close collaboration with program teams working on various conservation projects. They will coordinate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, prepare technical work products, and contribute to the overall program strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
Carries out literature review and stakeholder consultations to identify sustainability challenges that are amenable to development of solutions through a multi-disciplinary co-production approach.
Provides programmatic support to multi-disciplinary working groups and field pilots that are set up to address the gap between policymaking and sustainability science.
Develops a database of conservation projects and initiatives under the guidance of Director of Programs.
Develops a monitoring and evaluation framework for specific conservation projects and initiatives under the guidance of Director of Programs.
Assesses various projects and initiatives from the perspective of conservation impact and sustainability.
Develops factsheets and presentations on specific conservation projects and initiatives.
Keeps track of programmatic reporting requirements of various ongoing projects and coordinates with the relevant program team members to ensure that all technical reports are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
Works with the project managers to project expenditure against agreed budgets and timelines.
Reviews specific program team reports as well as work products of consultants and partners.
Organizes workshops, roundtables, and trainings to advance program goals.
Writes technical reports, requests for proposal (RFPs), Terms of references (TORs), and other communications materials to advance program goals.
Travels domestically as per program requirements. Conducts site visits in coordination with partners and team members.
Periodically may have to work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS degree and minimum four years of related experience in conservation, environment, ecology, forestry, agriculture, natural resource management, business studies, rural management or any related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience of working in multi-disciplinary diverse teams.
Experience of working in conservation, restoration, or environment projects, including developing work plans, and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.
Experience in partnership development with academicians, NGOs, community groups and/or government agencies.
Fluency in English and Hindi.
Experience with common computer applications such as MS Office.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree and over 7 years of related experience in conservation, environment, ecology, forestry, agriculture, natural resource management, business studies, rural management or any related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with the Indian conservation, environment, and natural resources management sector.
Strong analytical and presentation skills with good knowledge of computer applications such as MS Excel and MS PowerPoint (or equivalent applications).
Experience of cultivating and managing partner and/or stakeholder relationships.
Experience of monitoring and evaluation.
Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages. Demonstrated competence in both technical and non-technical writing skills.
Multi-lingual and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience.
Politically savvy.
ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

Successful candidates for this position will be hired as employee at TNC-The Nature Conservancy Centre (TNCC). TNC-The Nature Conservancy Centre (TNCC) is registered in India as a non-profit Section 8 company. TNCC also has 12A and 80G registration under the Income Tax Act. We are working on several key initiatives that are advancing environmental solutions for some of India’s most pressing challenges. We are working hard to demonstrate conservation results and achieve early “wins” that promote equitable economic development while conserving natural resources for people and nature.
