The Human Resources team helps attract and recruit diverse talent and works to provide employees with competitive benefits, leadership resources and the support to be successful at United.
Job overview and responsibilities
This position supports a variety of administrative, recruiting and project support to the Inflight Talent Acquisition team. This individual can be assigned to support corporate or operational recruiting teams and divisions.
Supports sourcing and selection processing activities, including:
Collecting, entering and maintaining new hire data
Scheduling pre-placement testing/assessment dates and interviews
Collecting, validating and processing employment-related information for new hires (excludes benefit or payroll processing)
Activities may include record setup, I-9 processing, license verification, criminal background checks, medical clearance review, fingerprinting and validation of documentation
Processing ground requisitions and verifying approval to fill new or vacant positions
Posting jobs on internal posting system via Taleo applicant tracking system
Create interview guides from applicable software
Manage mass hire and bid processes which includes, in addition to sourcing and selection processing activities, scheduling interviews and coordinating training class placement
Communicating offers or rejections to candidates via telephone, letters, email, etc.
Supports onboarding transaction processing activities, including:
Setting up new hires on the payroll system
Collecting, entering, and maintaining applicant data
Collecting, validating, and processing employment-related information for new hires (excludes benefit or payroll processing)
Activities may include record setup, I-9 processing, license verification, criminal background checks, medical clearance review, fingerprinting and validation of documentation
Calculate salary determination for SAM/Union positions
Provides superior customer service to all employees by promptly responding to employee inquiries
Achieves performance measures and adheres to established customer service standards
Escalates non-routine matters to appropriate individuals
Team lead liaison supporting recruiters, vendors and/or clients
Adheres to established processes, procedures, and systems
Interprets standard, administrative procedures and practices
Maintains records relating to employee/customer inquiries
Take initiatives to resolve problems and continuously improve Staffing Center processes
Maintains data integrity in all work processes to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Ensures confidentiality and security of applicant data
Process mail, order supplies and other duties as needed by the department
Project work as needed
Required
High School diploma/GED or equivalent
3 or more years of customer service, data entry, call center or related administrative experience
1 year or more staffing experience
Understanding of staffing, recruiting and operations practices, programs and plans
Understanding of employment laws and regulations
Demonstrated good judgment and confidentiality
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, highly team-oriented environment
Excellent time management, follow-through and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy
Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and databases
Demonstrated leadership ability to coach and counsel other coordinators on best practices and recruiting processes
Ability to work on special projects, in addition to typical workload with minimal supervision
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
College degree
5 or more years HR experience
1 year or more supervisory/lead experience
Process Management skill
Adaptability
Experience using Taleo or other applicant tracking systems (i.e. iCIMS)
Experience using HRIS platforms (i.e. PeopleSoft and COMPAS)
