Salary: $4,600 to $5,600 per month (SR-22, Step C to H)

Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant’s qualifications, and other relevant factors.

Duties Summary
NOTE: THESE VACANCIES ARE NOT SECRETARIAL, CLERICAL, OR OFFICE SUPPORT POSITIONS.

Provide a variety of services to each of several assigned boards and commissions, and the director where a board or commission is not involved, including assisting in programming activities, serving as liaison with departmental administration, receiving inquiries and assisting the public in regulatory matters by providing basic information and referral, making initial inquiry and referring complaints, arranging for hearings, and preparing correspondence and other materials for the boards and commissions and the director.

Duties include receiving, reviewing and organizing materials for the review of boards and commissions; initiating and conducting investigations, and reporting on findings; preparing subpoenas for attendance of witnesses; arranging for hearings and preparing agenda; compiling statistics and estimating projections; coordinating with the examinations staff on test items and procedures, and apprising the boards and commissions; monitoring and scoring licensing examinations; preparing correspondence and other reports as required; and speaking to groups and individuals.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

General Experience: Two and one-half (2 1/2) years of progressively responsible professional work experience which involved gathering, evaluating and analyzing facts and other pertinent information required to resolve problems and/or to determine and recommend appropriate courses of action. Such experience must have demonstrated the ability to elicit information orally and in writing, apply problem-solving methods and techniques, identify alternatives, use judgment in determining appropriate alternatives, prepare clear and concise written reports and recommendations for action, and deal satisfactorily with others.
