Job Description : Job TitleSupervisor, Fleet SafetyFunctionSupervisoryTeamPerishable Distribution Center/TransportationLocation Carlisle, PDCGrade14FLSAExempt/SalaryReports toManager I, Transportation OperationsDate Created 03/01/2022Position Summary· Oversee and maintain the fleet safety program.· Responsible for training drivers to promote driver, public, and team member safety across the transportation center operation.· Identify opportunities for safety improvements and create strategies to increase safety practices, measures, and performance.· Collaborate and communicate with drivers regarding issues, concerns, and performance opportunities and work to resolve through coaching, development, innovation, and corrective action.Essential Functions· Identify factors leading to accidents, or potential accidents, and institute solutions to reduced and prevent.· Provide leadership that creates and maintains a culture supportive of company values and promoting engagement and inclusion.· Coordinate with ADUSA Supply Chain fleet safety partners to promote consistency, alignment, and superior fleet safety programs.· Maintain driver SOPs, regulations, and resources that provide guidance on best practices for driver safety.· Monitor systems and tools to identify at risk drivers and driving behaviors (speeding, harsh braking and turning, store conditions, etc.). to identify systemic opportunities. Provide coaching, training, and other resources to reduce at risk driving behaviors.· Provide frequent driver ride-alongs to recognize positive driving behaviors and identify opportunities for improvement.· Deliver coaching, development, mentorship, corrective action, and discipline.· Conduct accident review exercises to identify opportunities for improvement and communicate and implement preventive measures. Deliver regular safety training, discussions, and huddles with driver community.· Collect feedback from transportation team to identify safety concerns and implement solutions to drive improved safety practices.· Track fleet damage, identify and address root causes, and lead initiatives and actions to correct.· Address and resolve store and motorist complaints.· Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance to assess and address potential maintenance risks.· Ensure alignment with fleet safety requirements, such as: hours of service; OSHA; DOT; and other requirements.· Administer pre-employment and DOT screening.· Monitor 3rd party drivers to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.· Coordinate with e-commerce transportation to ensure unified DOT compliance across the organization.Knowledge, Skills and Requirements· Knowledge of and experience with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.· Class A CDL license or willingness to become certified preferred.· Strong leadership, communication and strategic planning with the ability to infuence without authority.· Self-starter with the ability to teach, coach and develop others and the ability to achieve results without authority.Education· High school diploma or equivalent required.· Bachelor’s degree preferred.Job Type: Full-timePay: $57,600.00 – $86,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftHolidaysMonday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Work Location: One location
