Job Description : +++ Veterans, military spouses, and people with disabilities eligible for hire under the Schedule A hiring authority are encouraged to apply++GS-14The Supervisory IT Area Manager is located in the Office of Information and Technology, IT Operations and Services, End User Operations Midwest District. The Area Manager provides IT leadership and resource management, leading the development and implementation strategy required to manage IT End User Operations.Major Duties:Oversees the day-to-day operations, services, maintenance and security for all customers within immediate geographic areaProvides management, supervision, and services for Area Network Operations, Operations Support, Systems Integration, and Systems DesignDirects, reviews, and participates in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of automated information systems and technical architecturesOversees the integration of multiple mission-critical organization information technology processes and strategies at the area level; supports strategic thinking and uses and applies management principles having critical impact on technology and the organizationLeads the IT management concept development that impacts all IT business processes, operations, and strategiesSpecialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-13 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as overseeing the day-to-day IT operations, services, maintenance and security for customers; identifying/resolving causes of problems that impact delivery of essential Information Technology services; directing/coordinating/providing oversight of IT related work; carrying out IT management activities such as strategic planning, capital planning and investment control, workforce planning, policy and standards development and/or resource management; and serving as a subject matter expert on written policy guidance interpretation, practices, proposals and/or resources.
