Position : Terminal Operator II
Job Description : Responsible to train in the safe handling of hazardous materials which includes, USCG, DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations and to implemented before and during all transfers. Performs duties as outlined by the Terminal Manger related to the receipt and shipment of petroleum products via pipeline, dock, and truck. Responsible for managing multiple tasks and recognize abnormal operating conditions and respond within Valero’s guidelines.
Utilizes the terminal automation system to complete daily inventory and rack activity reports.
Monitors volumes, makes product switches, and insures maximum and minimum volumes are not exceeded.
Reviews valve line-ups with operations counterparts.
Starts and stops pumps.
Makes grade switches, monitors for interfaces, and makes valve lineup changes.
Utilizes Valero portal to enter daily shift reports.
Ensures proper measurement techniques are being followed.
Gauges, samples and analyzes product as instructed by Terminal Manger.
Reads meters, catches samples and performs various lab test as necessary.
Utilizes terminal SCADA screens to operate the terminal or pipeline.
Unloads gasoline additive shipments as required.
Coordinates sampling times with our customers.
Answers miscellaneous radio and phone calls.
Ensures company vehicles and equipment are properly maintained.
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
2 years of experience in terminal operations required.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally with all levels of management required.
Ability to work in an outdoor environment, which could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold, required.
Ability to work overtime with little or no notice during the week, weekends, holidays, etc as dictated by operations required.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
