Job Description : Test Technician/Generator ExperienceTemp-to-HirePay: $30.00/hr.Shift: 6:00a – 6:00p (OT and Weekend Flexible)Must have High Voltage Generator ExperiencePOSITION SUMMARYResponsible for testing engineered power generation equipment to ensure it is operating appropriately according to product specifications and is prepared for delivery to customer.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSConfirm equipment and products are assembled appropriately in accordance with standard operation procedures.Review engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions and procedures to ensure equipment and products are assembled correctly.Perform workmanship quality checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.Perform all necessary documentation in a timely manner.Confirm overall product assignment is completed in accordance with product specifications and standard operation procedures.Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic product functions and communication networks to ensure proper operating according to specifications.Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.Interact with production supervisors and coworkers to solicit information about problems and performance.Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and well-organized work areas.Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations.Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain testing equipment.Record testing data and analyze results to determine whether products meet quality standards.Use testing data to recommend improvements to the production process.Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.Assist with other duties as required.Assist in preparing generators for shipment as needed.Operate load bank tests on diesel, natural gas and generators.Working with 480V and 13.8KV 3ph power systems.Programing and setting parameters in various control system.QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and four to ten years related experience. Preferred: 2yr technical degree in electrical or diesel technology.Additional requirements:Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one’s conduct.Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.Ability to use critical thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.Ability to think in such a way as to produce a new concept, continuous improvements to production processes.Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work.Ability to formulate a sound decision using the available information.Ability to work extended hours and adapt to changing scheduling.Ability to define problems verbally and in writingMust be able to work independently.Experience with inverters (VFDs), batteries, load banks is a plus.Must be organized and able to take ownership of work areas.Use a variety of electronic test equipment including; DMMs, Insulation tester up to 15kv, Hi-pot tester up to 34kv, thermo imaging cameras, sound meters, gas detectors, laser tachometers, manometers, multichannel data acquisition systems.Use a variety of hand, power and various precision measurement tools.Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required production testing.Keen attention to detail.Good understanding of diesel, GAS engines and generator technology.Ability to multitask.SKILLS & ABILITIESComputer SkillsBasic computer navigation and utilization skills with Microsoft excel, word, power point is preferred.Other preferred Software skills:CAT-ET, MTU Diasys, Detroit DDDL, Danfoss plus 1 service tool, Deep sea electronics, Danfoss VLT, LabVIEW, ACSELERATOR QUIKESET.
