Job Description : About You
The Vice President, Data and Analytics has both hands-on/tactical responsibilities and significant strategic responsibilities for continually evolving the analytic capabilities of the entire Noodles & Company organization. This role has primary responsibility for the analysis, design, development, testing and execution of technology supporting business intelligence/analytic capabilities and data integrations. This role leads and directly contributes to the efforts of a team in designing, developing, and maintaining the data structures that integrate business applications and enable best-in-class analytics. Besides leading a team within the IT Department, this role is expected to facilitate and coordinate analytic endeavors across multiple departments (Finance, HR, Marketing, etc.). Fostering collaboration and ensuring predictable, continued progress are primary expectations of the VP-Data and Analytics.

Your Day in the Life
Partner both within IT and across the organization to develop, communicate, and own the execution of a unified strategy for analytic excellence including advanced analytics, predictive modeling, business reporting, enterprise data governance strategy, data security, and data integration.
Develop and execute the approaches to enable the analysis of large data sources, development of predictive models and allow reliable reporting and analysis by analysts throughout the organization.
Ensure that the organization is evaluating emerging/disruptive technologies and processes for data, data services, data warehousing, data analytics and cloud solutions.
Lead the migration from a primarily on-premises data infrastructure to the cloud.
Develop complex queries and stored procedures for reporting, analysis and to meet ad-hoc needs.
Optimize transactional processing (e.g. payroll) and system integrations (e.g. Dynamics SL, Workday, TalentReef, Lucernex) to preserve IT capacity for initiatives – especially analytic advancements.
Maintain a data ecosystem that incorporates agile development and testing capabilities necessary to support frequent updates while ensuring stability and accuracy.
Coach and develop the Information Systems Team to contribute to overall IT Department initiatives and minimize areas where only one team member has knowledge.
Maintain internal processes, documentation, and configurations in support of relevant regulations/compliance needs and aligned with all solution provider best practices (especially PCI & SOX).
Ensure proper documentation of all business requirements, projects, and solution components.
Share in the off-hours support of the data ecosystem and business critical reporting.
Provide technical and product knowledge to other members of the IT Department – serving as the escalation point for any IT Support (tier 1) needs beyond the technical expectations of this team.
Assist during the budgeting and planning process and operate within acceptable budgetary parameters.
What You Bring to the Team
Experience with current (and evolving) big data and cloud-based data solutions (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Power BI, Redshift, Azure Synapse).
Strong data fundamentals: ETL, SQL, data manipulation, data migration, database tuning and admin.
Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, Scala, etc) to draw insights from large data sets.
Familiarity with machine learning (supervised and unsupervised).
Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration across multiple departments and disciplines.
Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) data for internal reporting as well as data from other disparate sources.
Experience with both tabular and MDX SSAS cubes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal and active listening skills.
Ability to work in a team-orientated, collaborative environment on projects and troubleshooting.
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, data science, or equivalent discipline.
15+ years in data and analytics in a cross-functional organization.
Experience migrating a data platform from on-prem to cloud.
Experience with dev ops and agile methodologies.
