Creativity and imagination.
Good drawing or modeling skills.
Have a feel for movement and timing in order to produce convincing animation, acting skills to bring characters to life.
Having knowledge of traditional art is very helpful during your design process and can give you an eye for the best way to communicate your motion design to the audience.
Strong understanding of color theory, and what colors convey different moods and feelings to an audience. You need to give your color choice a lot of thought.
Being able to take a simple idea and turn it into a complex and appealing motion design piece.
Developing the timing and pace of the movements of a character or object during the sequence of images and ensuring they follow the soundtrack and audio requirements.
The flexibility to switch between several projects at once.
Strong observational skills and acting talent, for character animation.
Work well as part of a team and be able to take direction from senior animators, directors and clients.
Work well under pressure and to strict deadlines.
Working to meeting client’s commercial requirements.
