Job Description : Monroe CollegeSchool of NursingJob DescriptionAdministrative AssistantOverview of Position DescriptionThe Administrative assistant for the School of Nursing oversees and manages office procedures and other duties as assigned by the Dean and Director. This position reports directly to the Director of Administrative Services.Duties and Responsibilities· Oversee aspects of general office coordination.· Maintain office calendar to coordinate workflow and meetings· Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of student, faculty, staff and college information.· Interact with students, staff, faculty and visitors in a polite and courteous manner.· Answer telephones and transfer to appropriate personnel.· Answer questions for students making initial inquiry about the nursing programs and then refer the student to a counselor and information sessions.· Sign for, distribute UPS/FedEx, mail, and similarly delivered packages.· Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to, bookkeeping, copying, faxing, mailing, filing and typing committee minutes.· File and retrieve organizational/ departmental documents, records, and reports.· Assist the Clinical Coordinator with the coordination of clinical affiliations documents.· Set up and coordinate meetings and conferences.· Support faculty and staff in assigned project-based work.· Coordinate special events, Pinning Ceremony, and School of Nursing meetings.· Compiles summary data of faculty, staff, and student surveys that contribute to the School of Nursing Program outcomes.· Other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities· Computer literate.· Good writing, analytical and problem-solving skills.· Knowledge of organizational general administration.· Ability to communicate effectively.· Ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to, computers, telephones, fax machine and copier.· Ability to follow oral and written instructions.· Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team in the School of Nursing and college.· Flexible schedule to include some evenings and Saturdays.Education· Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree preferred· Proficient in the use of computers and software necessary to perform administrative and school functionsJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
