Position : Application Analyst I
Job Description : While the Application Analyst I is considered the entry level professional in the Computer Applications Department, this position requires demonstrated experience in supporting and maintaining enterprise-level applications. This position differs from the higher graded analysts primarily in experience and the amount of unsupervised responsibility they are afforded. The Application Analyst I is a primary source of information, advice, and support for and has in-depth knowledge of the processes supported by their assigned application(s). They work closely with Clinic Managers and departmental application specialists to properly implement features of the assigned applications in their areas of responsibility. The Application Analyst I ensures efficient and consistent use of assigned applications throughout the Clinic system and helps define the training needs of HMC personnel who use the assigned applications. They participate in upgrades to the assigned applications, their underlying operating systems, and programming languages. The Analyst I must communicate problems, requests, and other issues to Customer Support resources for the application vendor and is active in vendor user groups. Finally, the analyst participates as a project team member for special projects as assigned. The expectation is that employees in the Application Analyst I position will develop the improved skill set necessary to progress to the Application Analyst II position.
