While the role will report to Greenbacker’s Vice President of Construction, the selected individual will work and train closely with the Project Manager (as designated) and the entire Operations Team. The Operations team is responsible for Asset Management, Field Operations, Technical Due Diligence, and Construction. The Assistant Project Manager will have the responsibility of supporting the most complex and technically challenging construction projects and ensuring successful completion with project costs managed to budget and schedule completed to contractual milestones. The Assistant Project Manager will support/manage the work of the project and associated project teams (legal, interconnection, EPC, procurement) from RFP to project close out and hand off to our Asset Management team.As a small and evolving firm, the responsibilities will be broad, varied and all encompassing. Additionally, in joining a growing team there is significant opportunity to gain responsibility and perform high level tasks earlier than what is typical at larger organizations; such opportunity will be based solely on the merits of the individual joining our team. The role will be based in our Denver office or remote and travel expectations could be up to 50%.RequirementsKey Responsibilities: Support Project Managers on a variety of commercial and logistical tasks, including but not limited to preparing and managing project trackers, submittals, permits, technical assessment, EPC/Developer interaction, utility coordination, etc.Serve as the primary on-site representative for the project management team.Support Project Manager with all projects from RFP to Project Close OutTrack construction progress schedules to ensure major milestones are maintained.Conduct site audits as neededSupport department improvements and development of internal processes related to the departmentSupport/Assist construction management resources and independent engineers assigned to your projectsAlign support from other internal/external departments when necessaryCompile contract close-out documents and as-builtsAssist in the hand-off of the project to the O&M and Asset Management teams at COD/Substantial CompletionTravel as needed to ensure successful project executionSupport Project Manager/Contractors with all procurement and project deliveries to siteResponsible for complying and monitoring company safety and quality goals for all assigned projectsProvide clear and accurate communications to project managers/colleagues on status of work and expected completionQualifications, Skills and Attributes: Minimum 3 years of solar project management (commercial/utility)Strong organizational and interpersonal skillsExperience/knowledge with electrical, civil and mechanical systemsProficient written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple activities at a timeIntermediate/advance skills using Microsoft Word/Excel and Box.Strong familiarity with construction and electrical codesStrong analytical skillsAbility to read and interpret technical drawing setsA strong focus in organization and timeliness with an ability to support other parties to help provide timely responses. This role will be responsible for reporting deadlines that can have negative consequences for the company if they are not met.An Ability to maintain organization and timeliness in a chaotic environment and to help others in the department be more organized and timely in their endeavors.Resourceful, A true “self-starter”.
