The Ohio Department of Health (ODH), Bureau of Maternal, Child and Family Health (BMCFH) is seeking a Data Entry Operator 2 (DEO2) in the Children with Medical Handicaps program (CMH). The DEO2 will be responsible for entering personal/demographic data, medical information, and client applications into CMH’s case management system. The data is retrieved from submitted paper applications and medical claims information submitted by medical providers.
The ideal candidate will have data entry experience, knowledge/experience in the medical field (patient data entry, claims data entry) is a plus. Must have strong communication and organizational skills. This position will require collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
Position Location – (Columbus, Temporary Hybrid) work in office first couple weeks for training.
Hours of Work/Schedule: (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm)

Primary Job Duties:
Inputs, reviews, edits, verifies, and updates case file data.
Verifies Medicaid eligibility.
Reviews incoming applications to determine prior case status.
Additional Duties:
Moves paper case record from and to the workstation.
Travels to meetings and trainings.

Qualifications
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary;
6 mos trg. or 6 mos. exp. in use of data entry equipment;
in Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, Wage Record Department, in addition to preceding option, applicant must also have minimum of 10,000 net key strokes per hour on an alpha numeric keyboard.
Or 4 mos. exp. as Data Entry Operator 1, 12331;
in Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, Wage Record Department, in addition to preceding option, applicant must also have minimum of 10,000 net key strokes per hour on an alpha numeric keyboard.

Knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication & division; office practices & procedures*. Skill in operation of data entry equipment; operation of peripheral machines (e.g., scanner, printer); data verification equipment*. Ability to proofread material, recognize errors & make corrections; read, copy & record figures; check pairs of items that are similar or dissimilar; proofread material, move limbs, fingers easily to perform manual functions repeatedly. Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 25, Step 1 of the union (OCSEA) Pay Range Schedule ($17.53 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
