Job Description : The Department of Economic Security, Division of Aging and Adult Services, seeks an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Deputy State Refugee Coordinator with the Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program. DAAS supports at-risk Arizonans to meet their basic needs and to live safely, with dignity and independence. Services and programs reach a diverse population of Arizonans.
There are significant additions to refugee resettlement programming in conjunction with increasing refugee admissions and Operation Allies Welcome efforts, such as completion of Afghan Placement and Assistance service gaps, housing, legal services, and targeted set aside services, health promotion, school impact and legal services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight and management of the Division’s Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP) whose federal mandate is the coordination of public and private resources, including the administration of benefits and services to assist refugees and other eligible beneficiaries as they resettle in the United States, as well as operating the state’s United States Non-Emergency Repatriation Program and assists with development and execution of the Arizona State Plan for Refugee Resettlement and corresponding strategic and high-level integrated service planning that involves the identification of program development and processes improvement initiatives.

This position works primarily from the successful candidate’s Arizona home office but occasional in-state and out-of-state travel as well as in-person attendance at the worksite location for mandatory meetings, trainings, etc. may be required. Job Duties:
Responsible for high level, complex, statutorily mandated operations of refugee resettlement and economic self-sufficiency efforts within the state, as well as programs ancillary to refugee resettlement under RRP’s responsibility, exercising independent action and decision making.Manage statewide operations for refugee and eligible beneficiary resettlement, providing leadership for major changes in business practices, and providing oversight of statewide refugee resettlement programming.Review reports for accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with numerous government and community partners involved with refugee protection and resettlement and US Non-Emergency Repatriation. Participate in networks and coalitions that promote and protect the safety and well-being of RRP clients. Contact with vulnerable adults.Ensure contractors comply with federal regulations and policies, the State Plan, and contract requirements. Oversee the development and implementation of training strategies/initiatives statewide. Assists with the revisions of standard works and manuals.

Selective Preference(s):
Bachelor’s Degree and seven years of progressive experience in refugee resettlement specifically related to refugee resettlement coordination and planning including program research, analysis, planning, community outreach and/or overall administration including managerial and/or supervisory experience; OR Associate’s Degree and ten years of progressive experience in refugee resettlement specifically related to refugee resettlement coordination and planning including program research, analysis, planning, community outreach and/or overall administration including managerial and/or supervisory experience.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.A.R.S. 41-1968 Employee shall have a valid, unrestricted Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults, prior to the start of their employment.In-state travel is required. The position will require the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11). Individuals may be required to use their personal motor vehicle.Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.

Retirement:
