Job Description : Who we are: Star Cinema Grill is an upscale, dine-in theater concept that offers guests first-run cinema releases, an extensive scratch made food menu, and a full-service bar with a wide selection of beer, wine, spirits, and specialty cocktails. We own and operate eight Star Cinema Grills in the greater Houston, TX area, as well as three cinemas in the Chicago, IL area.Who we are seeking: We are growing and in search of a Director of Operations who is a people first centric leader who will except responsibility for the day-to-day activities of the company’s cinema operations, by providing direction and support to the cinema leadership teams to ensure that the business is performing to company standards.What you will do for us: The following tasks are not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive, other duties may be assigned as necessary:Participates in recruiting, hiring, training and development of all exempt cinema leadership team membersWorks with General Managers (GM’s) to develop their teams according to their respective Roadmaps and Areas of Responsibility (AOR’s)Ensures the development of cinema leadership teams’ financial acumen by utilizing the company’s Financial WorkbookPartners with the Director of Human Resources to develop talent succession plans and individual development plans for cinema leadership teamsObserves, reviews and coaches hospitality steps with the leadership teams during cinema visitsReviews and analyzes Profit & Loss (P&L) results with Vice President of Operations, Sr. Director of Operations and GM teams to ensure accuracy, and identify opportunities and areas of strengthEnsures cinema leadership teams analyze and submit daily Key Performance Indicator (KPI) correspondenceReviews nightly recap emails and provides feedback to cinema leadership teams based on performance resultsExamines cinema log notes daily. Ensures compliance and provides feedback to the leadership teamsAnalyzes hourly team member schedules and provides feedback to GM teams based on weekly and monthly labor goals and budgetsEstablishes team member staffing par levels with cinema GM’s and adjusts, as neededWorks with Vice President of Operations and Sr. Director of Operations on monthly, quarterly, and annual budgetsPartners with Director of Human Resources on leadership team performance evaluationsReviews End of Period EOP (End of Period) with Director of Culinary and Manager of BeverageDevelops and delivers coaching, performance improvement plans and corrective actions for exempt team members, in partnership with the Director of Human ResourcesEnsures uniform inventory is completed each period along with food/beverage EOP resultsOversees inventory and ordering process of gift cards, as neededIn partnership with cinema GM’s, sets up leadership team store permits in HotSchedules program and ensures renewals are managed in adherence to expiration datesPerforms other related duties as assignedWhat we will do for you: FREE MOVIES!
