Job Description : Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Project Coord.

Full Time Salary position (37.50 hrs.) Must be able to work a minimum of five 7.5-hour days based on operational need.

Pay Grade 5 – $56,700

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for oversight and coordination of all matters relating to the day-to-day activities of the DEI department, including supporting projects across the department, coordinating communications and outreach to steering committees, assisting the team on internal and external DEI activities, and providing support to the Chief of Equity, Education, and Engagement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Course concentration or certification in diversity programming preferred.

Experience:

2-4 years’ experience in project management and event planning coordination.

2-4 years’ experience supporting and working directly with senior management.

Experience in integrating and promoting DEI through a complex and dynamic community or organization.

Experience creating and implementing multi-generational DEI program content for underrepresented/marginalized communities preferred.

Technical Expertise:

Ability to effectively and efficiently use a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Google Apps, Project, and other applications, including web-based tools

Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.

Demonstrated strength in written and oral communication is required.

Demonstrated awareness and knowledge on the subject of racial, gender, inclusion and social justice issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

Maintain database of primary contacts

Coordinate messaging to DEI committees and board members

Assist team with DEI content development and communications with key stakeholders

Provide preliminary customer service for volunteers’ and staff requests and inquiries

Maintain edits to departmental materials and relevant web pages

Provide administrative support to senior staff, as needed, including scheduling meetings and scheduling travel

Assist senior staff in preparing information for board members and meetings including compiling information for board reports, etc.

Report on and track all DEI related programmatic activities in accordance with CPL requirements.

Acting as first line of support for the various DEI groups and task forces to assist them in completing their objectives and deliverables.

Project coordination around action items detailed in the five-year DEI strategic plan.

In collaboration with Marketing & Communications team, create quarterly newsletter, infographic snapshot and annual report to keep staff updated on DEI progress and activities.

Serve as the primary person for financial matters related to the DEI department

Provide superior customer service to external and internal DEI stakeholders.

Conduct and track research on communities and organizations that are interested in partnering with HRC

Support and coordinate logistics for meetings, conferences, webinars, offsite meetings, and events/programs, activities, and community outreach programs
