Through education, interpretive programs, research, preservation, and restoration, we work to perpetuate the memory of events and honor the people involved in these Pacific historic locations.Be a Part of History!What We Need You To Do!Abide by procedures and policies for safe and effective implementation of education programsSupport Interpretation & Program SpecialistImplement and support place-based curriculum aligned with Hawaii State DOE standards K-12Implement and contribute to the development of youth programs that align with Hawaii State DOE standards K-12. Youth programs may occur on weekends, Fall Break, Summer Break, Spring BreakCollaborate with volunteers and the Volunteer Coordinator to implement education programsSupport in the scheduling of education programs including, pre-site, on-site and post-site visitsImplement and contribute to pre-site, on-site and post-site visits to educational settingsPromote educational programs offered at the parkAttend meetings, as needed.Occasionally assist with inventory and other special events that may be held outside of traditional worksites and work locationWhat we Need You to Know How To Do!HS Diploma/GED; Bachelor’s in History, Education or related area, preferredBi-lingual ability a plusExperience working with youth; PreK thru Grade 12Experience working in education and/or history fieldsAbility to be a team player and collaborate with education personnel, education groups, and volunteersAbility to work within deadlines in a dynamic work environmentEnthusiasm in the implementation of education programOrganized and detail orientedExcellent oral and visual communication skillsAbility to work flexible hours (i.e. weekends and/or afterschool hours)Basic knowledge using computers and softwareWhat We Offer You!We offer an excellent benefits package, which includes medical/dental/vision/Rx at NO COST TO YOU.
