FTSI, Inc. a leader in digital, hardware and multi-level services including electronic security for the financial services industry.FTSI, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electronic Security Technician who will compliment the department with advance skills and excellent customer service.If you’re energetic, self-motivated and enjoy troubleshooting, we urge you to apply for the position!ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESElectronic SecurityProvide service support for all alarm, video surveillance, access control, intercom and alarm monitoring solutions for current and new customers in the service areas.All installation activity related to electronic security to include but not limited to: effectively communicating and coordinating with customers, FTSI security team and contractors, cable pulling, mounting devices, system programming and customer training.Understand the process of running wire, cable, and circuits in a real-world environmentTrouble shoot and repair of video, intrusion and access control system failures.Effective diagnosis of systems both remotely and on site.Prioritizing, planning and time managementInteract with customers in a professional manner to cultivate positive customer relationshipsCommunicate and escalate service issues to service teamCommunicate with the communication center with closeout information pertaining to service callsCommunicate with management as to needs and actions taken or to be taken to complete projects in a timely mannerCommunicate closely with project management and electronic security departmentInvolvement with new system configuration and implementationResponsible for handling service calls in compliance with client contractual agreement.Complete all necessary paperwork or service system in a timely manner to ensure real time communication is shared with the team. Communicate to upper management any service items requested by the customer to ensure it falls in line with the signed service agreement. The accounting department may bill the customer for services that fall outside of the contractual agreement.Responsible for maintaining the warehouse as needed: keep warehouse neat and clean, maintain shipping and receiving, test benches to remain orderly and under control, parts must be kept on racks with detailed information, maintain inventory and integrity of customer equipmentPerform preventative maintenance duties as assigned and complete as required by customer service agreement.Safety: Always be aware of your surroundings and the people in the vicinity that can pose threat to technician safety, technician safety is always first; Understand and follow all FTSI, Inc. safety procedures regarding equipment, tools, and handling of heavy objects; Learn the designated locations for fire extinguishers and safe useTravel out of town for projects as neededQUALIFICATIONS Technical training /background or related experience preferred. Ongoing continued education is encouraged as it relates to products and services. Manufacturer and third-party training as needed for certification and expanding product line; software certifications are encouraged; ongoing training as required on new hardware and processes.SKILLS and ABILITIES- Firm grasp of mechanical and electrical functions.- Must be able to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and telecommunication faults.- Ability to read floor plans.- Aptitude to read, understand and apply knowledge from technical documents- System programming- Understanding of low voltage systems and wiring- Familiarity with the proper use of volt/ohm meters, circuit toners and Telco/network connector termination tools.- Familiarity with basic networking theory. (Assigning IP addresses, connecting network switches and routers.- Analytical ability to diagnose basic problems and ability to work with minimum supervision.- Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirement and efficient installation procedures.- Must remain up to date with industry licensing and testing requirements.- Must be proficient in using a PC.- Must be able to effectively use tools and equipment as provided.- Must possess critical thinking skills and the ability to make decisions while under limited supervision.- Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.List of tools, software, or other devices used: – Familiarity with IP camera, DVR and alarm panel set up procedures using a laptop and vendor specific software.- Basic hand tools such as screw drivers, pliers, wire cutters, wire strippers, wrenches, drill bits and a battery-operated drill, flashlight, Volt/Ohm meter, circuit toner, view cam for analog camera focusing, a butt set for Telco troubleshooting.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCECurrent/active low voltage C-7 license preferred. Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
