Roaring Fork Fire Rescue Authority is currently looking to fill the following position:Fire Inspector I: Under the direction of the Fire Marshal, the Fire Inspector is responsible for the protection and preservation of life and property for a safe community by the performing fire prevention inspection work; conducting standard or specialized inspections of commercial, institutional, industrial properties, and residential dwellings (when requested by homeowners); delivering safety programs on topics such as fire safety, housekeeping, fire sprinkler systems, fire extinguisher training, fire alarm systems, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors and enforcing all applicable local, state and federal safety code regulations and standards.Location: Roaring Fork Fire Rescue Authority1089 JW DriveCarbondale, CO 81623Work Schedule: 40 hour a week schedule, mainly during the day, with an occasional evening or weekend work.Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must have the following minimum qualifications*High school diploma or GEDFive (5) years of fire service experience with three (3) years as an inspector or in a similar job.Valid Colorado Driver’s License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)Current CPR-BLS certificate** Must be able to obtain the following certifications within one year of hirer:ICC Fire Inspector 1 through International Code Council (ICC), NFPA Certified fire Inspector I (CFI-I) or State of ColoradoICS 200Colorado State Fire Suppression System Inspector certificationColorado Hazmat Operations certificationPreferred Qualifications: ICC Certification Fire Inspector 2.** Must be able to obtain the above certifications within two years of hirer*Candidates that are currently enrolled in a program(s) to achieve these minimums or higher are encouraged to apply. We have many opportunities for continued education, training and career advancement. The Fire Chief may establish an eligibility list of qualified candidates. Candidates that are placed on the eligibility list will be notified of such. Eligibility lists are valid for up to 6 months, however the Fire Chief reserves the right to re-test and establish a new list at any time.Starting Salary: Minimum Market MaximumFire Inspector I Non-Exempt$60,320.90$72,384.11$84,448.13$29.00$34.80$40.60**When determining compensation, RFFRA evaluates training, education, experience and internal equity to determine hiring wage. HIRING RANGE IS FROM THE MINIMUM OF THE SALARY RANGE TO THE MARKET VALUE OF THE SALARY RANGE.
