Job Description : Position: Front End Assistant Classification: Service AssistantPosition Summary Packs member orders into boxes and transfers items to a separate cart for cashiers. Performs clean-up, cart retrieval, merchandise restocking and runs for items as directed. Provides a high level of member service.Job Duties/Essential FunctionsGreets members, helps members load order onto conveyor belt, determines member packing preferences, answers questions, relates information on special promotions, thanks members, assists cashier by counting items left in cart, checking under items and positioning them for scanning. Provides prompt and courteous member service.Packs member orders into boxes and loads to a separate cart or flatbed. Checks packaging for tampering. Follows all safety and security procedures. Follows proper departmental procedures for performance of duties. Assists members loading orders into car when appropriate.Runs for items such as merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and item numbers as requested by cashiers to keep lines moving smoothly.Maintains cleanliness of register area and general front end area. Cleans spills and trip hazards immediately.Retrieves carts and flatbeds from parking area using a rope with clasping hook, pushing no more than 10 carts together.Keeps lot area free of debris and sweeps in front of building.Performs set up and closing duties for the department, such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning area.Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materialsRegular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machineryCarts, flatbeds, large wheeled bins, MIMO, clasping cart ropes, rolling mop bucket with wringer, mop, broom.Non-Essential FunctionsAssists with front end duties as necessary.Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machineryCarts, flatbeds, large wheeled bins, clasping cart ropes, rolling mop bucket with wringer, mop, broom, click counter, 2-way radio, pallet jack, trash compactor, cardboard baler, trash compactor, cardboard baler.Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/CertificationsRequired: Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), OptionSTOP Training (within 30 days).Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.Recommended: High School Diploma or GED preferred.Customer service skills preferred.Other ConditionsManagement will review the Job Analysis for this position prior to a job offer.Apart from any religious or disability considerations, open availability is needed to meet the needs of the business.
