Work location: Fully remote: the Graphic Designer can work remotely or from a collaborative office space in Tampa as long as all job duties are fullfilled and established goals are consistently met.

ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Innovative Education is an academic support unit that partners with USF’s colleges to develop, market and recruit students into the university’s most innovative programs. Services include online faculty development, online course design and development, program development, marketing and recruitment, enrollment management and related services.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Graphic Designer is a professional creative position responsible for assembling together images, typography, or motion graphics to create a piece of design aimed at facilitating better communication and understanding. Under general supervision, the Graphic Designer is responsible for working independently on a variety of small to large-scale projects, producing designs to meet the diverse communication needs of Innovative Education. The incumbent designs advertising and collateral materials including but not limited to brochures, newsletters, posters, flyers, maps, banners, videos, website mockups and other digital assets, utilizing various assets provided by the University, the Colleges and other campus partners to enhance print material, creating assets when required; and creates high-level visual communications and develops graphic content consistent with USF identity or templates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Graphic Design:
Design platform-specific digital assets and print pieces to support USF Admissions, Corporate Training and Professional Education, Collages, and other projects as required. Create PowerPoint presentations, digital graphics and ads, infographics, graphs and charts, reports and other design templates, landing pages, website and email design mockups, etc. Adhere to all USF brand guidelines.

Concept Planning and Development:
Gather information about new projects (audience, message, budget, deadlines, print or digital, etc.), develop concept outlines, brainstorm creative ideas, develop sketches and wireframes, solicit feedback, and lead creative discussions with the team and clients.

Videography:
Create engaging video content for use on social media platforms as well as university-owned platforms. Work with a team to plan, film and edit video content according to business needs. Direct and communicate with testimonial subjects and others to ensure quality composition and audio. Design intros, outro, lower-thirds and other animated graphics for use in the videos in compliance with USF brand guidelines.

Photography:
Plan, execute, edit and deliver photography for events, campus life, head shots, and other needs as they arise. Responsibilities include analyzing and deciding how to compose a subject; using various photographic techniques and equipment; capturing subjects in commercial-quality photographs; enhancing the subject’s appearance with natural or artificial light; and using photo enhancing software.

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Technical Writing, Digital Media, or related field with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master’s degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Ability to use Adobe Creative Cloud applications primarily InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro as well as proficience in Microsoft Office Programs is essential. Knowledge of ADA requirements and UI/UX a plus.

PREFERRED:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing or related field with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master’s degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
