We expect all of our employees, families and students to learn, understand and implement this model as part of their daily responsibilities and commitment to the culture of this agency.”SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESThis is a full-time or relief (up to 20 hours per week) staff support position in the Operations Department.The Groundskeeper/Maintenance Assistant performs maintenance duties related to buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.*All positions at AK Child & Family may have responsibilities altered during the course of employment due to agency imperatives.All employees with AK Child & Family are required to be in compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid COVID vaccine mandate. The mandate requires that by 2/14/22, staff at all health care facilities must have received their first dose of a 2-shot series (Moderna or Pfizer, currently) or a single dose of a 1-shot vaccine (Johnson and Johnson, currently) with the exception of those that have sought and been granted an exemption to the COVID mandate. Staff must complete this step before they can provide any care, treatment or other services for the facility and/or its patients. By 3/15/22, all staff with the exception of those that have sought and been granted an exemption to the COVID mandate, must complete the primary vaccination series.BENEFITS FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES: HEALTH BENEFITS: Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, & Vision – with HRA!Flexible Spending AccountDependent Care AccountGroup Life and AD&DLong-Term DisabilityEmployee Assistance ProgramOTHER BENEFITS: 403(b) Retirement PlanPaid Time Off (PTO) – 13 hours/month in 1st year and then increases2 Floating Holidays/year6 Observed Holidays: double-time pay for working on the HolidayBonuses: Longevity & ReferralEducational Support ProgramBENEFITS RELIEF EMPLOYEES: 403(b) Retirement PlanEmployee Assistance ProgramPAY: $15.00-$17.00/hour DOEVariances are available based on approval.3% pay increase after successful completion of 6-month Intro Period.Annual raises are based on the annual budget and not guaranteed each year.SUPERVISION AND COORDINATION OF SERVICES: The Groundskeeper/Maintenance Assistant reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and works collaboratively with other staff personnel.QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate the ability to perform general grounds maintenance, including snow removal, sanding sidewalks, clearing vehicles, fertilizing and mowing, trimming, raking, and planting.Demonstrate the ability to perform, or be trained to perform, general maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment and have the ability to maintain written records of all maintenance functions and activities.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Experience in grounds keeping preferred.Experience in general maintenance of grounds, buildings, and equipment preferred.On-the-job training offered.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have a valid Alaska driver’s license and be able to drive a variety of vehicles ranging from snow plow trucks to 14 passenger vans.Ability and agility to move in and out of AK Child & Family buildings including all crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, attics and other areas as required is essential.Perform ground maintenance such as digging, mowing, chopping, shoveling and snow blowing, operate and troubleshoot mechanical equipment related to carpentry, sanding, snow removal, and heating.Lift and move furniture, mechanical equipment, supplies and other required objects up to fifty (50) pounds is required, as is the ability to paint walls and ceilings with both water and oil base paints.Operate lawnmowers and grass trimmers and to accurately write and provide written documentation related to purchases, inventory, work performed, and quality improvement initiatives.’Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hourBenefits:Employee assistance programSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Required)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Required)Work Location: Multiple Locations
