Position : Help Desk Technician (Will Process Secret Clearance)
Job Description : Equivalent Experience
TEKsystems is seeking Help Desk Technicians to support the Department of Homeland Security in downtown Colorado Springs, CO. TEKsystems can process a Secret Security Clearance for these positions or hold a clearance for candidates already in possession of a DoD Secret. Candidates must have experience with either a ticketing system or a monitoring system. We are hiring at the Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 (Lead) level for these positions. Candidates also must be open to shift work (12 hour shifts in a 24×7 environment). No certifications are required for these positions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Performs activities related to monitoring, detection, correction, escalation and reporting. Will routinely perform activities associated with IT customer support.Manually upload and process critical data files directly related to the ability of the organization to provide vetting services to customer organizations
Assist with Creating, analyzing and transmitting critical reports providing time sensitive updates to customer organizations on potential terrorist activity
Assist with the escalation of bridge/conference calls for complex maintenance activities and critical outagesProvide support on mission critical systems during maintenance activities and outagesProactively monitor the health of the systems and data flows using commercial and proprietary monitoring toolsTriage phone and email call communication using the ability to understand and respond to customer requirementsCreate, analyze, route, update and close incident and service request ticketsVerify system application execution to ensure mission critical applications are operating as expectedConduct initial troubleshooting of IT and non-IT related issues identified thru monitoring tools and system checksPerform Access Management roles, including processing User Access Requests for all systems, account creations, unlocking accounts and/or resetting passwordsPerform onsite facilities checks verifying the integrity of the mission systemsCreate, consolidate and post daily shift logs
Basic Qualifications:Must be able to work all shifts:
o 12-hour shifts. 36 hours one week. 44 hours the next week. Day shifts and night shifts. Rotate shifts approximately every 6 months.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to apply critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills in order to make mission impacting decisions on reported issuesAbility to communicate and coordinate requirements with various customers and stakeholders on a variety of issuesAbility to assist with maintaining documentation reflecting the current operational environment
Act as a team player with strong interpersonal skillsDemonstrate strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to perform at a high level in a mission critical and dynamic work environmentTypically, an Associated degree or equivalent experience working in an IT environment is required
Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience in IT Service Desk environment
Knowledge of Remedy, especially Incident Management moduleStrong technical knowledge in troubleshooting proceduresPrior knowledge with system monitoring tools, especially Solar Winds and Tivoli
