Position : Human Resources Generalist
Job Description : SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION: Support human resources activities by administering the following: Processing bi-weekly payroll, leaves of absence, benefit administration, attendance, personnel, and medical records. Maintain and expand utilization of the Company’s HR Information System. Act as a resource to the staff and supervision of the Gallipolis, Stratham, NH, and Saline, MI facilities to address and resolve inquiries and problems. These duties include assisting the Human Resources Director in order to help answer inquiries from employees, employee payroll and benefit service providers, and governmental agencies. Assists with compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies, and the maintenance of positive labor and employee relations. Responsible for the recruiting and hiring of qualified applicants, specifically responsible for hiring those in an hourly role.This position assists with maintaining Human Resources practices and objectives to provide a balanced program throughout the company and reports to the Human Resources Director. Embrace lean principles with own work assignments and encourage others within the plant to do the same. Provide backup to Indiana-based HR counterparts in all aspects of role.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Functional· Process bi-weekly payroll for the Gallipolis, OH, Stratham, NH, and Saline MI facilities. Complete daily time keeping duties for hourly employees; Monitor daily attendance and notify supervisors of attendance policy violations· Ensures employee deductions/withholdings are paid correctly and timely by providing Finance the proper documentation (Insurance, HSA and 401k contributions, garnishments, etc.)Maintain records for employees, including attendance, FMLA, LOA, and payroll as well as maintain personnel and medical files. Produce bi-weekly payroll reports; Maintain AAP program, yearly filing and compliance; Update Job descriptions as neededAdminister the FMLA application process for the facilities, including approval of applications, tracking and handling inquiries.· Protect ElectroCraft by proactively addressing issues related to OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, state and federal Departments of Labor, etc. Process Workers Compensation claims and files· Facilitate Human Resources Training. Employee development support. Maintain and track training for all employees· Assist Human Resources Director with benefit administration. Prepare employee information for insurance and 401k audits Acts as a Liaison to Benefits and 401k brokersAssist supervisors, team leaders, and employees with policy questions. Advise Senior Leadership Team with compliance and employee relations concerns; Design and implement policy changes when warrantedEmbrace lean principles with own work assignments and encourage others within the plant to do the same.Provide support to Continuous Improvement process including participation in kaizen events.· Participate in, and provide leadership to, employee committees. Act as a Safety Leader in the facilitySupport and lead human resources projects and initiatives; Keep employee handbook up to dateMiscellaneous clerical data entry and the arrangement of employee activities, external training, and travel.Monitor and notify supervisors when employees are due performance-based progressions.Assist management with employee conflict resolution; Conduct, coordinate and facilitate employee investigations as needed; Support management in administration and enforcement of corrective actions.Recruit potential employees at all levels in the company; Screen and maintain candidate applications and resumes, set up interviews for hiring managers; Conduct interviews for all entry level candidates; Assist with hiring decisions; Process and maintain offer letters for prospective employees; Ensure all employees are given a background and drug screen before orientation· Lead new employee On-boarding processes. Ensure that all I-9’s are filed and up to date; Conduct weekly orientation of new employees· Assist Human Resources Director with public relations, including job fairs and community events. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or other related field. Experience in lieu of education, and/or combination thereof, will be considered.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Four years of related experience is required. Human Resources clerical experience required. Experience with Human Resources policies and Labor Relations is required. Must possess excellent communication and organization skills as well as be proficient in Microsoft applications. This person must act as a role model for other employees. Must have a passion for resolving problems when assisting employees. Business improvement processes knowledge and experience are preferred. Membership and active participation in recognized HR professional organization such is SHRM is highly preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Keyboarding for 4 – 8 hours per day. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
