Job Description : Located in Southeast Alaska on the western coast of Baranof Island is the island of Sitka, renowned for its natural beauty, traditions, and wildlife. Accessible only by air or sea, the City and Borough of Sitka has a diverse community which consist of approximately 8,500-year-round residents with an influx of visitors during the summer months due to tourism and commercial and sports fisheries.The City and Borough employs approximately 154 FTE’s with a total average budget of over 100 million including general governmental, internal services and enterprise funds. Sitka operates under a “strong manager” form of government which the elected Mayor and Assembly members establish policy which then are implemented by the Municipal Administrator. Within the City and Borough a full range services include, Assessing, Administration, Community/Conference Center, Clerks, Electric, Finance, Fire, Harbor, Industrial Park, Information Technology, Legal, Library, Planning, Police, Public Works, Search and Rescue, Solid Waste and Wastewater.The City and Borough of Sitka is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
