We are currently looking for a curious Junior Programmer / Analyst in the IT&DA Product Systems organization to support our Manufacturing Engineering/Liaison Engineering portfolio of applications. The primary area of responsibility will be in support of our Commitment Development Schedule – PC (CDS-PC) application used to plan and schedule engineering changes to our commercial aircraft. This is a critical Enterprise application with a user base of roughly 2,000 engineers and shop floor personnel.

The candidate for this position will keep production strong by patching reported system bugs, modifying the existing application to account for Enterprise-driven software changes, and scanning and mitigating any Information Security vulnerabilities found in the system. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to take part in several enhancement projects scheduled for 2022 designed to modernize the application and increase system stability and resiliency.

The software team is guided by Agile development principals. This position requires frequent interaction with the customer. Due to the size of the system and number of interfaces to other upstream and downstream systems the candidate needs to have the ability to simplify complex ideas and learn quickly.

Position Responsibilities:
Provides assistance to design, program and execute test plans.
Implements, documents and maintains routine computing applications and software.
Assists in gathering and evaluating end user requirements.
Writes and compiles routine code and constructs routine database objects based on documented design.
Modifies or upgrades applications to maintain software functionality.
Documents, validates and researches reported problems and assists in developing user training.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Proficient in C++ (2+ years)
Practical Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server databases
Ability to work well within a remote and global team
Ability to work independently as required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Cold Fusion experience a big plus
Experience writing CRON jobs in Linux
Knowledge of other programming languages including… HTML5, Java, Javascript, .NET, VB6, ASP
Experience with cloud offerings such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DevOps
Experience in git repository for code check in/out
Experience with microservices, CI/CD pipelines, blue-green deployment

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master +1 years’ related work experience, 7 years’ related work experience, etc.).
