Position : Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

Job Description : Purpose and Scope
The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of facilities and production preventative maintenance and company shutdown activities, utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Project. Additionally, supports the implementation, maintenance and operation of the CMMS.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for coordinating facility maintenance personnel to support workloads, projects and shutdowns at all company facilities.
Coordinate work orders with Management Team, Production and Facilities Maintenance Technicians, Project Managers and internal customers to support daily manufacturing and facilities operations, processes and projects. Determine urgency, estimated completion and priority status, update and correct descriptive content.
Responsible for contractor planning and scheduling to assist facility maintenance.
Responsible for overall scheduling and planning for company shutdown activities and other scheduled maintenance.
Monitor and report data related to tracking blanket purchase requisitions for facilities and production maintenance to Maintenance Manager as requested.
Support annual department budget development by providing current spend patterns, forecasting future spend, and providing justification data to the Maintenance Manager as requested.
Use CMMS, Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Project for planning, scheduling and reporting all maintenance activities.
Responsible for ongoing contact with internal customers for work order questions, issues and scheduling.
Provide management and client reports on work order status such as past due and current open work orders, schedules and asset information.
Initiate specific work orders and instructions which support the handling and installation of manufacturing and research equipment based on the customer’s scope and requirements.
Serve as back-up to manage CMMS system users and provide staff with system training.
Assist with audits as necessary.
Compile and analyze data, prepare reports and makes recommendations for changes and/or improvements related to facilities and production maintenance.
Order parts for PMs and maintain appropriate spare parts inventory.
Perform parts kitting for PMs.
Purchase parts for CM work orders.
Coordinate the fabrication of specialty parts and other items with vendors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and/or ISO 9001 calibration system requirements
Procedure writing and review skills
Functional skill with MS Office applications
Thorough knowledge of maintenance activities and expertise in CMMS (Blue Mountain, Maximo, etc.)
Ability to prioritize, schedule and logistically support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and make independent decisions
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Familiarity with a variety of the pharmaceutical industry’s concepts, processes, and procedures, including cGMPs
Ability to assess and define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Ability to comprehend written, graphic and quantitative information
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to work independently with general instructions on new projects
Ability to work well with employees and outside contractors

Education & Experience
Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Experience working in a Planner / Scheduler capacity in a pharmaceutical or medical device environment strongly preferred.
Five or more years of experience with facilities and / or production maintenance in a regulated industry, preferably manufacturer of sterile drug products and/or medical devices preferred.
Experience utilizing an automated PM scheduling, work order, spare parts, and calibration software package (Maximo preferred).
cGMP audit management preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay: $35.00 – $38.00/hour
