Job Description : JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Manager-Clinical Business Intelligence will oversee the operations of our data platforms to support end-to-end aspects of Data Analytics at Inova. This role has direct report responsibilities over a team of Business Intelligence Developers, Data Architects and Data Engineers responsible for varied analytics applications. This includes but not limited to all Human Resources functions such as career planning, performance evaluation, payroll, PTO approval. In addition, this role is responsible for daily and ongoing management and oversight of implementation, installation, training, and service/support of these applications. The Manager-Clinical Business Intelligence will also manage medium to large complex IT Projects and be responsible for all aspects of project management and for keeping projects on time, within budget, and within scope. Mentors project team members and provides direction and management to direct reports and all employees in department. Handles employee relations and staff development for direct reports; develops goals and manages fiscal activities of the department.Job ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes business requirements for new system requests, system upgrades, and system replacements to ensure compatibility with IT standards and successful implementation. Determines if the requested functionality exists within an existing IT System or if a new system is required to meet the business needs. Manages system selection process, as needed. Serves as the IT liaison for processing requests for new systems, procurements, moves, and other facility or business unit IT initiatives.Leads the set up KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and SLA (Service Level Agreement) for all Analytics solutions to optimize the organization’s investment on BI software and hardware.Oversee use of BI/Data Analytics platforms including on premises or Cloud platforms.On the operational side, the Manager will work with vendor and other support organizations on incident tickets, environmental upgrade, process automation and to implement continuous process improvements, create and to enforce security, report code migration/management processes and other applicable best practice policies for the environment.Focus on customers by managing the team on meeting data load SLA and long-term performance tracking/tuning of the BI contentsLead the team to create and implement an industry leading BI solutionsEstablish trust by ensuring the team manages efficient operational schedules and applies best practices on workflow/control on day-to-day system activities.Work with Data Architects, users and IT professionals on strategies necessary to store, move, and manage data & report codes on all analytical platforms.Leverages innovation by overseeing the implementation of operational strategies and support solutions integration and rollout (guide the Operations team to manage data source connections, report code asset, security, network, storage and server management).Manages the work of a team of 5-10 analysts in gathering, documenting, and designing data integration and data visualization report usages, migration, access control, monitoring, forecasting and auditing needs.Shares expertise with team members; provides coaching and guidance to develop talent and cross-functional capabilities and optimize team member engagement. Delegates authority and empowers team members to make decisions.Create best practice policies for analytics systems and enforces such polices.Adheres to Inova’s financial policies and help manage and execute budget to meet department targets.Resolve HR/team conflicts or issuesDrive continuous process improvement to increase department efficiencyAdditional RequirementsEducation: Minimum: Bachelor’s degree. Degree type includes Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.Experience: 5 years team leadership experience with progressively responsible assignments. Experience in a healthcare environment.Recent relevant experience managing complex projects from design through implementation and acceptance.Experience in SQL and SQL scripting.Experience in implementing best practices in end-to-end BI platform governance for the organization.Proven track record in managing heavy use BI tools on multiple platformsCertification: Epic Cogito Certification or Proficiency or equivalent.Skills: Strong executive presence and ability to interact with business users/leaders while retaining an ability to interact with all levels within the organization. Familiar with software development life cycle and project management tools (such as Agile and JIRA).Ability to break problems down into discrete steps or activities.Strong knowledge of capabilities, functionality, and behaviors of varied BI tools.Experience on day-to-day analytics system operations and create strategies for optimizing such platforms to with large number of end users.Strong oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate (technically and non-technically) with team members, other professional staff, management, users and vendors to ensure successful and cooperative completion of tasks and projects for timely resolution.Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, to be able to work with users and other team members to be a contributor to build out best practices on data life cycle, data quality, data lineage and content governance to support all enterprise platforms.Requires leadership skills in addition to extensive subject matter expertise.Requires knowledge of healthcare informatics, team dynamics, and broad range of technology·ABOUT USInova is Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
