Job Description : Giant Delivery, LLC.JOB OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTGiant Delivers has an opening for a Manager II in Manassas, VA. Our customers place their grocery orders online for next or same day delivery and our team picks and packs those items, of the best quality, and delivers them directly to the customers. This position oversees the total operation starting from when our products are ordered and received to when they are delivered directly to our customers. Below are the job responsibilities and qualifications needs for the position.Description of Responsibilities Support customers and distribution centers leading the dispatch operations of various commodities from vendors to distribution centers and our distribution centers to customers ensuring on-time deliveryEffectively managing the capacity, quality and costs for the facilityCoordinate tactical plans with strategic planning and budget consideration. Prepare detailed period reports for management and accounting. Achieve budgeted expense – achieve key performance metricsProvide primary point of contact with associates, customer service, and on-road supportManage daily and weekly planning, coordinating resources and service with distribution operations and customer serviceEvaluate transportation exempt and non-exempt staff members including recommending salary increases and providing direction, guidance, discipline, and counselingExamine and investigate injury, vehicular, and industrial workplace accidents while coordinating internal insurance claims accordinglyImplement training programs and procedures for the department in accordance with approved company policy and within Federal D.O.T. guidelines, such as random drug and alcohol testing, annual DOT-required management training, DOT regulations and safety meetingsTrain, develop, coordinate, and motivate staff members in effort to improve present performance and prepare them for future responsibilitiesMaintain disciplinary standards and recommend and execute disciplinary action as warranted by company policy for staff and contractual obligations of collective bargaining agreement for associatesInterview and assist in the selection of qualified candidates for warehouse associates, drivers, supervisory and clerical positions for the facilityAssist the support/systems groups as warranted. Plan and prepare data for the systems operators to use as an aid for special projects and informational purposesMaintain positive working relationship with overall labor relations such as with union officials while ensuring business needs are metResearch new delivery areas of opportunity to support expansion plansLeads modeling and pilot efforts within the company to support RBS and PDL transportation programs. Works directly with managers within the RBS and PDL Smart Mile team to execute new systems and/or best-practice operational changes in order to generate new learning and ideas for future implementationsEnsure Smith System Safe training is conducted by supervisors regularlyEnsure Lytx (vehicle event recorders) are functioning, and drivers coached on events in a timely fashion.Ensuring food & workplace safety initiatives are practiced & adhered to by everyone in the facility.Comprehensive and demonstrated diversity equity & inclusion knowledge and understandingMust be able to travel to all related facilitiesQualifications (the following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated): Education Required: Bachelor’s Business Degree (MBA preferred)Experience Required: 7-10 years of progressive responsibility in the E-commerce marketSpecialized knowledge: DOT regulations. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Knowledge of union contracts and disciplinary procedures.Special Skills: Skill in effective, clear, and persuasive oral and written communication; ability to negotiate and administer contracts with outside vendors/drivers; ability to lead, motivate and secure performance to achieve key performance goals; exceptional analytical skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.Other: Proficient, knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
