Job Description : Everett Recovery CafeA safe place for individuals to pursue healing and recovery together.JOB DESCRIPTION: Operations ManagerJob Summary: The Everett Recovery Café is a safe, healing community for those affected by challenges with mental health, homelessness, and addiction in order to empower long-term transformation through human connection. The Café Operations Manager has a deep understanding of the Café’s vision and works to nurture and maintain our principles to show respect, give and forgive, live reflectively, practice compassion, and encourage growth.The Operations Manager works as part of the entire Café team, and reports to the Senior Program Manager.This position is from 32 – 35 hours per week, and in three months becomes a 40 hour per week position, with an opportunity to move to a salaried position in our organization. The wage range is $22 – $25 per hour, depending upon experience.Job Responsibilities: Embrace and promote the environment of “radical hospitality” in the context of loving accountability.Supervise and support Café Floor Staff, working collaboratively with and delegating tasks.Communicate and enforce Café guidelines and boundaries with loving accountability.Supervise the kitchen manager, and assist as needed in daily food preparation and set-up.Ensure the Café and the area surrounding the building remains clean and beautiful.Coordinate and schedule partner organizations who are on site, providing services for our members.Supervise kitchen manager with inventory control and ordering of food.Maintain inventory control for supplies and equipmentAssure regular cleaning and maintenance of the facility and all equipment.Create and maintain list of who to call for any maintenance issues.Provide staff support and floor coverage for special events held at the Café, including Open Mic, Volunteer Recognition events, and building uses (i.e., 12 Step meetings) and rentals outside of normal operating hours.Facilitate support groups.Create a schedule for floor staff, and manage Café floor coverage and operations in alignment with established standards and within budget constraints.Assist with the hiring of Café Managers and Relief Managers in coordination with the Café hiring team.Supervise Community Service Program.Provide on-going performance feedback, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary actions if necessary.Assist in maintenance of the Agency data tracking system and provide data from Café Operations.Assure facilitator coverage for Recovery Circles.Supervise all community volunteers and members.Meet weekly with operations staff to assure quality operations.Participate in weekly staff meeting.Participate in Program consult meetingOther duties as requiredRequired for this position:Must have strong interpersonal communications skillsAbility to consistently serve as a motivator, conflict resolver, and “de-escalator” for both staff and members.Ability to work amicably on a diverse staff team with flexibility, creativity and enthusiasm.Able to take direction and work with a teamProficiency in basic computer skills sufficient to communicate effectively with staff and other agencies using Microsoft Word, optimally Excel and email.Strong organizational skills.Personal understanding of the recovery journey (not necessarily in recovery from chemical addiction)Ability to embody principles of recovery in daily interactions.Strong desire to support people who are on the recovery journeyCapacity to love, establish and maintain appropriate boundaries with Café patrons who at times may be very challenging.Valid driver’s license (safe driving record required).Washington State Food Handlers PermitAbility to lift 50 pounds.Wear non-slip shoesMinimum Education, Work and Skill Requirements:Education: Minimum of High School degree (or equivalent); years of experience in human service may be substituted.Work Experience: 2-5 years progressively responsible work experience in a position utilizing skills relevant to this position.Additional Desirable Qualifications:Previous experience in a social service agency and with populations struggling with addiction and/or mental health concerns.Kitchen experience with managerial qualities.Recovery Coach, RCA TOT, or education in human services a plus (e.g. Chemical Dependence).Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hourBenefits:Dental insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:Day shiftCOVID-19 considerations:Masks are optional but required in certain situations, as per the governor’s mandate.Ability to commute/relocate:Everett, WA 98201: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Preferred)Work Location: One location
