Job Description : The plant manager oversees all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The plant manager will be instrumental in developing processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. This position requires strong leadership qualities that include giving clear direction, thinking proactively, and a high sense of accountability.Specific tasks/responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectationsIncrease production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standardsBe responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shippingAllocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal resultsImplement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focusDevelop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assetsShare a trusting relationship with workgroup, manage and develop plant staffCollect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtimeCommit to plant safety proceduresStay up to date with Abzac’s latest production management best practices, policies and procedures.Keys to success in this role:Adaptability: Able to adjust and move forward when changes happen; need to be able to anticipate change and adjust beforehand.Motivational: Able to cultivate those who report to you to be their best. Prevent constantly scrambling to put out fires.Decisiveness: Must be able to assess a situation and come up with the best course of action possible.Organization: Must be able to juggle a lot of plates. Be organized in thoughts, processes, floor tasks and workflow, and inventory management.Communication: Must have strong communication skills. You are the heart of your operations and need to be able to maintain positive relationships, effectively communicate expectations, and clearly articulate information with everyone at Nagel – regardless of job level.Conflict Management: With so many people with different personalities working closely together in a fast-paced environment, tensions can run high.
