Job Description : PARENT PARTICIPATION PRESCHOOL (PPP)PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides support to staff and families and assists with implementation of activities and program as assigned.Willingness to learn skills and techniques of agency focused on families and young children.Develop workforce skills and ethics.Possess the ability to understand and perform within the organizational structure of culture-based education (CBE) and family engagement through knowledge of and implementation of Hawaiian culture and dual language opportunities.ASSISTANT II ROLE (Employment Training): Assist Lead to facilitate play and learning opportunities and activities for all parents and children.Model appropriate behaviors and parental guidance strategies for families.Follow all safety and health standards as set forth in Early Childhood guidelines.Demonstrates professionalism at all times.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Assists with set-up and breakdown of the PPP environment.Assists with providing a safe and nurturing environment consistent with best practice standards in early childhood development.Assists with implementing daily routines, schedule, activities, and snack preparation, and sanitization of food service area and tables before and after service.Assists with hand washing, cleanup and for snack time.Encourages and provides parents information and support as they interact with children.Assists with test administration and orientation.Assists with greeting parents and children with a spirit of aloha.Ensures parents sign-in and sign-out daily.Ensures that all parents fill out evaluation forms, as instructed, by Lead Facilitator.Assists collecting and all required attendance and evaluation reports.Daily and weekly: cleans and sanitizes all equipment, materials, and tables.Daily: leaves the site clean and secured.Participates in staff development activities and trainings as required.Alerts Supervisor to problems with staff and participants, including any suspected child abuse.Alerts Lead Facilitator or Supervisor of any safety issues or family expressed concerns.Participates in fundraising and other events.Calls Lead or PPP Manager by 6:00 am when you will be absent, sick or an emergency occurs.Maintains good communication with families, staff and Manager.Complete other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducation beyond high school or equivalent.Demonstrated interest in working with families and young children.Willing to support efforts to perpetuate the Hawaiian Language and cultural activities.Able to lift, maneuver and transport up to 40 pounds or more daily.Effective communication skills.Willing to acquire physical exam, current TB clearance, First Aid/CPR certification if required.Must have daily access to car with current auto insurance coverage and availability throughout the week during normal business hours.In-home access to WIFI and Internet.This job requires in person face-to-face contact.Job Type: Part-timePay: From $17.00 per hourEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location:One locationWork Remotely:NoWork Location: One location
