Job Description : Harris Investment Group (“HIG”) is a boutique asset management firm with a primary focus on real estate investing. This is an excellent opportunity to become an early employee of a high-growth company, with a great culture and company atmosphere.ABOUT THE ROLEHIG is seeking a highly motivated and team oriented individual to work collaboratively with and support the Chief Investment Officer. This individual will be primarily responsible for the properties within the investment portfolio; interacting with the property management companies, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the underlying properties, as well as overseeing the renovations process of properties to ensure each property operates at maximum performance levels.A successful team member enjoys working cross-functionally and finds gratification in developing and implementing analytical decisions. Through building relationships with property managers, you help take the company in the right direction and are confident in portraying your data-backed recommendations to impact business decisions.ESSENTIAL DUTIESHold weekly calls with properties where performance is unfavorable to business plan and/or budget or the management company needs, provide weekly support and guidance.Return and Report – Communicate any delays, critical information to CIO. Timelines are critical, and timely communications are vital.Lead and guide the direction of each property in your portfolio to ensure the asset is performing at expected budget levels. Understanding the market and comps, monitoring, and guiding the capital needs on each property, and looking for ways to add value and increase gross potential rents.Validate that work has been done to the right standard and work closely with the Property Manager to meet deadlines.Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual property financial, variance, operating reports.Assisting with our due diligence efforts for new property acquisitions and assisting with the closing process.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, must have 4 years’ experience in finance industry)Minimum of 2+ years of experience in property management, multi-family asset management, project management, and/or related field. PreferredExperience writing overview and property reports/investment memo’sAdvanced computer skills, and thorough knowledge of Microsoft product suite (Excel, Powerpoint, etc)Strong written and oral communication skills, w/ high attention to detailEntrepreneurial/ownership mentality, while being able to work within a team structureMust be highly motivated, be able to work independently, solve problemsAbility to travel ~15% of the time.HOURS & COMPENSATIONThis position will be Full Time. Salary will be commensurate with work experience.
