Total Compensation Statement
Your Benefits are a significant part of your state compensation. The total compensation package could be anywhere from $89,172 to $101,124 annually. The total compensation package includes annual salary, insurance, retirement, leave and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities
This position manages, assigns, reviews, and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Regional Communications Center which includes but is not limited to, responsibility for the operation and effective functioning of the dispatch center; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures, the planning, direction, staffing, equipment and budget for the Regional Communications Center, which receives and dispatches calls from emergency and non-emergency telephone lines from citizens as well as other governmental entities requesting law enforcement services.

Ability to determine staffing requirements, interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.

Note
Preference will be given to applicants with at least 2 years of experience working as a supervisor in a 9-1-1 or Law Enforcement Communications Center.

Special Note
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or a general equivalency diploma is required.
In accordance with F.S. 322, selected applicant must possess a valid Class E or higher driver’s license. Selected applicants must have no cancellations, suspensions, or revocations of the driving privilege for a minimum of three (3) years prior to employment and must also maintain a driving record with no more than three (3) chargeable motor vehicle crash or any violation defined in Chapter 316, Florida Statutes during any consecutive (3) year period of employment.
This position is subject a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) and State Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) security clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal history records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 10.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. As an applicant for positions requiring CJIS security clearance, you are required to disclose criminal records that have been sealed or expunged.
In addition, potential candidates must successful complete a drug screening, medical and psychological examination.
Occassional overnight and out of town travel is required. A valid driver license is required.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification as required by FDLE. Incumbent must be CJIS certified within six months of date of employment and recertified thereafter every two years.
911 Public Safety Telecommunication Certification as required by Florida Statute 401.465. Incumbent will have 12 months from the date of hire to obtain the required certification and must maintain the certification in good standing as required by law.

General Information
The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.

The process for selecting applicant(s) for this position could take up to six months. Following the six-month period, a new application must be submitted to an open advertisement in order to be considered for that vacancy.

HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
