Job Description : Job Description: The Manager is responsible for ensuring the daily transportation functions are carried out effectively and safely, while meeting all shipping schedules, key performance indicators and profitability of the terminal. The Manager will lead the terminal personnel, provide forecasting and budgeting, perform daily audits of various functions, support drivers, office staff and be a liaison with other sites and corporate.Job Duties: Maintain and practice use of the knowledge of/to: Direct improvements of all operational facets, including, but not limited to:Safety, Fleet, Financial, & Business Development goalsManage several direct reports: Driver Managers, Admin Staff, Drivers, etc.Formulate training and incentive plans, maintain efficient team structure and performance through analytics, processes and toolsDevelop and grow business relations with customersDevelop, maintain, and exceed fiduciary budgetsMaintain DOT regulatory, and company Safety Policy complianceManage, develop, and communicate to upper management KPI’s relative to the Terminal Managers scope of responsibilitiesDevelop improvements to, and create new, published KPI dataWork across departments to achieve recruiting targets for company drivers, owner operators, partner carriers, and operational & administrative staff, as it relates to the TerminalWork across departments to provide continuous improvement plans as related (but not limited) to:SafetyCustomer Service; On-time Delivery quotas, Load acceptance rates, and other KPI’s as are developed and definedFinancial success, including profitability, cost reductions, and maximizing operational efficienciesDriver retentionManage drayage operationsDemonstrate proficiency and compliance with the use of administrative procedures and systems such as: Transportation Management System (Dispatching, order processing, etc. in TMS) policies & proceduresOffice Software (proficient use of various programs in Microsoft and other business applications)Satellite tracking & communications SoftwarePerform work duties in a manner consistent with: Understanding and complying with unwritten and written safety policies/proceduresEnhancing the company’s profitability by (but not limited to):Develop and communicate to upper management any/all cost cutting ideas or suggestionsJob Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceFlexible scheduleFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Houston, TX 77009: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:transportation industry: 5 years (Required)port and rail: 5 years (Required)drayage and container: 5 years (Required)Work Location: One location
