Position : Accounting Assistant
Job Description : The Accounting Assistant is responsible for performing various accounting tasks under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager. At least one year of previous accounting experience is desired, with accounting experience in the construction industry considered a plus. Starting pay is competitive for the industry and this position is eligible for 401k vision, dental, health insurance, Supplemental insurance, vacation and sick. This is a full time position.Duties include but are not limited to:· Collect and track open vendor invoices, ensuring duplicate invoices do not enter the system.o Distribute open vendor invoices to appropriate project management personnel for approval.o Perform timely data entry in QuickBooks for all non-inventory approved invoices.o Batch all received invoices in Service Titan for all inventory approved invoices.o Ensure all approved invoices are posted to the correct GL account.o Ensure all direct material costs are posted to the correct job and cost account.o Ensure invoices are entered promptly to take maximum advantage of vendor discounts.o Verify independent contractor status by requesting W-9’s.o Communicate verbally and in writing with vendors regarding discrepancies with invoice terms and amounts.o Verify correct vendor information so payments are sent to proper addresso Review vendor statements against open AP invoiceso Perform similar procedures for all credit card receipts obtained.o Immediately file paid vendor invoices in closed invoice vendor file.o Assist in the collection of residential and commercial accounts receivable.o Assist with other duties, such as payroll and certified payroll reports, if required.Job Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeAbility to commute/relocate:Fairbanks, AK 99701: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Experience:QuickBooks: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
